I have loads of chocolate in the fridge and i havent been at any of it since that cake.

but I've already laughed at your CB aarrghh! Oh go on then, just for you I'll come along and we can have a group effort at the point and laugh.
Will save everybody making fun of my bike, at least.

How's the leather effect tank coming, anyway?

Strangely I'm actually quite confident about being able to find my way, since I almost found my way there when I was trying to stop somewhere else, last week.

In theory, yes, though I might be coming in a little later this week, not quite sure where I'm going to be coming clocking off time.

That coffee is just so good, I can't get enough of it.
Besides, there isn't much else for me to do Friday night, since all my local friends are at uni or abroad, I'd just be going to the pub and talking to the people in town that I don't like.

At least this way I get to meet a bunch of people with some similar interests and can talk about bikes without anybody getting too bored.

Providing I can work out how to screw the necessary bits back on my bike to make it roadworthy I'll (probably foolishly) be there:

Finally got a Friday off work and since the SV is going in for its first service I feel tempted to get a F. Fabbri double bubble while I'm there and then test it out on Friday, so might not be there this week.

Also, what colour should I get, light tint or dark tint?

I'll be sticking my head round the door on Friday :D

Depends if you want to be able to see through it or not, innit  If you're not sure wait til you see Carsick's - he's got a solid black db on his.

Speaking of which - Mike, if you need to stay over give us a shout.

I've got to be in Bournemouth pretty early Saturday, so probably best if I don't, though a literal raincheck would be cool, if that's ok?

Despite my excessive leisure this week while enjoying my temporary retirement, I think I can still squeeze Soho in this Friday. However, this will be without the SV, as it's propped up in my parent's back yard at the moment.

I think I'll be able to stay long enough give Debs a hug, sample some of Claire's donna, take the **** out of Lyn's CBR, and inspect the results of this week's bodging of Ape's bike.

See you all there

Ian - what happened was I got the hammerite paint and painted over the leather effect tank..... all fine and good... left it a lot longer before testing - and it was dry on the surface.... no probs so far....

the theory being I was painting enough coats so when I sand it it will sand to black and not to patches of blue and black which is what was happening because the coats were so thin last time...

so monday arrives gotta go to nottingham... tank is dry on surface... on goes tank bag.... arrive in northampton to see how the svs doing.... take tank bag off along with patches of paint which werent dry under the surface

either Ive found a cunning way of stripping the whole tank (it does do a good job of removing even the first sprayed coats - it seems to have just matted all the layers into an easily removable blob) or this is phase III of the tank respray

still its all good entertainment value....   and to be honest its not like its looking worse than the lime green seat effect

inspect the results of this week's bodging of Ape's bike.

As one of those responsible, in a a small way, for it's now functioning state, I take great exception to the description of the inspired re-use of other wise damaged and disparate motorcycle parts, as "Bodging".

So 'K off. :P

PS. I'll be there, will there be a Kebab Grand Prix again this week?

eh.. still in northampton... when brake discs changed we noticed the brake hoses were being cut by something - had eroded the metal casing but fortunately hadnt cut the hose itself... very lucky it didnt happen when I had to do an emergency stop yesterday - that wouldve hurt at the very least

its being worked on so coming down from northampton rather than from work so no idea when Ill get there... also dont have spoons/plates - no more room in rucksack but a few napkins from neros should really suffice for the small amount of cake needed....

Can't make it after all. Bucket has been up to it's old tricks again    A few components are broken. Importantly, the handle bars and both brake levers. Considered coming anyway (for a nano second) and then decided I had better not.   :(

Can't make it after all either, don't feel up to it after dropping the bike on myself. I was taking it off the Abba stand and as the side stand couldn't come down until the Abba stand was completely down it fell towards me and so I went down with it to protect it and ended up getting stuck. Luckily my brother was home and came to my aid, although at one point he pulled out his phone and was going to take pictures of the bike on top of me  .

Oh please, don't turn it into a bloody noun!

Bad luck, don't worry we've all done silly things including me who has fallen off his bike without even being on it (which means you'll have to get down to Soho to hear the full story ;)).

Well, I just got home from a pretty good night at soho.
Unfortunately the bike is still 11 miles away in the middle of the forest.
No, I didn't do a jonboy, I got another bloody puncture.
Tried to phone the RAC and I couldn't get any service on my phone, so was talking the 3 miles into the nearest town to use a phonebox.
the police stopped and rang the RAC for me, who said it would take 2 bloody hours.
In the end the nice young lady offered to give me a lift home .

So, my poor bike is stuck on her own in the middle of nowhere, and we are talking shotgun peppered roadsign territory.
I hope she's ok.

Maybe we could call it that. I can't seem to get a tyre past 3000 miles without a puncture.
I just hope it's repairable, since there aren't any conti places round here and the next cheapest is actually a bt020 (if you don't count some dunlop thing)

Sorry to hear about the puncture Michael. Luck was definitely not with you last night, what with your gear lever coming off on the A4 on the way in!

Good question Will.

Judging by the number of shots they set up and my very limited knowledege of how these things work the answer would have to be...

Who knows? Guess they will decide what looked best in some editing suite somplace, then show it to the lawyers as i'm sure there would be copyright issues with the Spiderman image etc.

Guess we all have to keep our eyes peeled for ads for the new Vauxhall Astra Spots Coupe, the beauty that it was.
Not

Tho it would be fun to see my lid become famous before i ever do.

The bike was fine when I went to collect it today, luckily.
Well, I knackered another rear tyre. I'm now on my third rear in 3 months.
Had to get a BT020 this time, cos they didn't stock contis and I needed the bike today.
I just rode home in the rain on a very nearly brand new tyre (now done 25 miles) and I don't think I've ever ridden as slowly as that.

Along side the extra cost, it will be a further pain to take it easy, but at least you'll get where you are going.
