I shall be there in spirit but not bodily. Various family commitments mean I will sadly be absent this week but will valiantly return the week after to annoy the hell out of everybody  .

Have fun folks, watch the wardens.

Good to see the regulars again.

Glad you are in one piece lynn, if a bit sore after the accident. I hope you might be able to get your cb argh back, or your SV.

Sorry to see you deck your bike ricardo, but these things happen and the best thing you can do is learn the lesson and move on. As ape said, don't stew on it, it doesn't do any good.

Woops for me, thanks for all of you helping me on the night.

Got up this morning to take all the front off the bike.

Got a list of things to get done.

In total i broke the headlight, front subframe twisted (i might try to twist it back myself), center fairing is a gonner, clutch lever, gear lever & frame mount, screen, right & left upper fairing & tank dented.

http://www.pyroserve.com/Files/mybikedamage280105-1.jpg

Just wandering if this headlight would fit my 02 bike?

Turned left, were lots of people on the road, passed them and then had to brake because there was a car at the juntion. I was only doing about 5-10mph when i started braking i did not see a flattened straw had on the ground and well the bike fell down, i came off and it went sliding into the car.

I just tumbled a bit and stood up.

This morning one side of my ass, leg and left wrist are all tense.

Dented ego & bike. But depending on how quick i get the parts, i will have to be bussing it again to work for a while.

Thats seriously unlucky mate. I mean we all look out for things that will affect our grip but at those speeds its amazing what has the power to get you off.
I hate seeing flattened cans in the road for the same reason... a little rain and its so dangerous. Wether i'm on the bike or not if i see on i'll pick it up and put it in the bin.

But a flattened straw?? Whatever next eh?
If it was a McDonalds straw you would prolly be allowed to sue them if we live in america. :(

Don't tel me that doesn't surprise you, bikes and late nights in urban areas in crap weather don't really go together, (plus the added Friday night bravado) and a number of people here have less than 12 months experience on a big bike.

It's not the best cocktail for safe biking is it..... :(

I think this type of accident would have happened with any type of bike i had, as speed was not the main factor.

JHS Racing sorted me out for the gear pedal & frame mount this morning, and had to order a headlight and front subframe as i tried to bend it back but could not.
