Hi,
Is there an exhaust system for the SV650 which will give a nice deep "growly-but-revvy" sound like a Ducati 996/999? Feel free to laugh if I'm being over-ambitious.
plenty but none will ever be the same.....

Which would you recommend for this purpose? I'm a fair novice to this malarkey.. how easy are they to fit, is it best to let a workshop do it?
Yo dude. A duc makes it unique sound through a different engine than the SV. It has a different firing pattern, desmodronic valve gear and a dry clutch, so you will never get the 'Duc' Sound. However, you can get the SV to sound better that it does stock. There are loads and loads of different exhausts in all shapes and sizes. It all depends on what you want, and how much money you have.
You can start with things like the carbon can co, and Art, going through Scorpion and micron, going up to high end stuff like Akroprovic and Renegade. Then theres the custom stuff from Zorstec.
They are just a few of the can available. Have a look around on the main site. There is a huge data base for exhausts and manufacturers etc.
Hope this helps.

Cheers for that, I was hoping to spend about £300-400 for a system. I don't know if that is cheap, mid range, or whatever!

If sound is the main issue then don't spend so much on looking at a full system - just go with an end can which costs from around £140 up for a good one and will make the noise you want and give a chunk of power too - leaving cash in your pocket to pay for the tyres you'll go through when you start riding more because it sounds so good!!
