Im thinkiing of selling my SV soon unfortunately as Im totally skint. It is a 1999 faired model, done 32000 miles. It has a scottoiler, scorpion race can, dynojet stage 2 kit and bmc race filter, WP suspension front and rear, BT 020s, recent chain and sprockets, 6 months tax and 5 months MOT. Its got scratches on both sides of fairing from a small drop each side. Could anyone give me an idea of what I should ask for it?

Not sure of the value, but you'll almost certainly get a better return putlling off the extras... Especially the suspension! They'll add not much if anything to the value for most buyers, but you should get a good price selling individually.

Usual statement about wait till spring if you can applies... If it were me I'd flog off the extras now and hold on as long as possible before selling, a couple of months could make a big difference and'll definately get you an easier sell.

Take all the extras off sell 'em on here (or ebay), buyers also like standard bikes, well I do any rate. First dibs on the WP shock! :)

realistically you'd be doing well to get £2k private, I'd say nearer £16-1800.

if you were buying a higher value bike from a dealer you'd probably get get somewere between £18-2200 depending on how much he was making on the other bike.

Not good but real.

Cheers Mark.

Second hand and part ex values for SV's have dropped through the floor, took mine in for a price yesterday, and was offered £2600 for a 53 plate sk3, 9000 miles, Datatool System 3 alarm, lowers, seat cowl and Wolf Racing exhaust. Not very happy was expecting at least £500 more on part ex. The dealer wasn't interested in doing any kind of deal, in fact he didn't really want it in part ex, they have trouble shifting them on! Since Suzuki heavily discounted the new price, the second hand values have plummeted.

I got £2000 for my 2001 SVS in trade in for the raptor. Would have been more but the forks were a bit minging on it. I've sold all the extras separately.

K3/4s values have certainly plummeted, what with new ones being so cheap... But the old ones seem to be fairly static from when I got mine- bearing in mind it's still january.

curvy sv's hold their value much better, must be a better 2nd hand seller than the "ugly" one....

More because there's a finite supply of them and no new ones.

But you're right, they are ugly ;)
