I think an awful lot of us are doing it ourselves. If you fancy learning there's virtually unlimited help from the good folks of the Soho Massive.

I missed my 7.5k service and waited till i got to 10k.
Needed new rear pads too and the whole thing cost just over £175.
Very nice peeps too and its an independant little place in Camden. Suited me fine at the time cos it was down the road from work, so i dropped it in in the morning and he called me in the afternoon to go get it.
I would do my own too but i dont have a garage :(and the weather cant be trusted either

a few of us use Rob Berrington-smith, who's got a garage in ealing. Very reasonable on labour charges.

http://www.bikesmart.co.uk/

mention the site and he will probably do you a good deal

Rob has looked after all my bikes, and apart from myself and Alan, Nick and Richard use him regularly, as do a number of others on this site...

Many thanks for all your replies... Camden one sounds closest. I would love to do it all myself, but don't have a garage and it's a bit chilly out there  BC

You honestly don't need a garage and it's only chilly in winter - a couple of woolies and you'd be fine. Now you're not a wuss are you?

Well there's at least 1 SV in that lot.... And he looked after my SV and the Falco before I got my two wheeled exocet

:offtopic: Have to say, been back on the bike the last couple of days, the first time in over 2 weeks. Oh what a joy

Is Rob the guy who used to work at MLS Bikesmart in Ealing?

Has he set up on his own?

Yep, he's the guy that run the workshop. When Bikesmart closed down he took over the workshop and started up again. Mine's booked in for a service this weekend.

Good bloke and good prices.

4th'd. it's all the little extra bits he does which makes a difference, things you have not asked him to do but he just does cos he sees it needs doing.

plus he rang me later in the evening to make sure i was happy with the work - very customer friendly.
