From what I have reseached it will fit the SV, and is the closets fit. Though the bolt will be a bit wide and will need to be shaved off a bit. Also athough the shock is very close to the correct lenght, the spring is under sprung for the SV and if you over 13/14 stone or carry pillions alot then you may find it a bit wallowy. Though this is just what I have read.
Thats why I went with the ZX636 the spring is 3/4 of a inch longer, but the spring rate is almost the same (if not a little more). And I've had a inch or so taken out of the seat so the height should not be a problem, though I could just change the dog bones.

i would say that that isnt a srad shock if you look the the left of the picture there is a bolt for a mounting point and this should be a fork

ie somthing fits between then you clamp the bolt through it

so i`d say no it`s not the right one

ignore all that crap

lol

it has the fork its to the right however the bolt should be a stub that a bolt can go through and not a bolt like it has

and the answer is still no it wont fit

I was under the impression that the GSXR 600 or 750 SRADS are the ones to look for 96-99 models. Which look like that one..

Yes its an SRAD shock, I've the same one fitted to my bike.

Yes it'll fit, you have to remove the height adjuster from the top, and rotate the bottom 180' so you don't need to grind down the bolt.

on my 5th one now, so I've a fair idea :?

Cheers Mark.

Either mine had all this done or this is not required - I only had to grind the battery holder from the petrol tank.

As I had to fix the gear lever I had a detailed look at my shock. Mine does not have the top part and it has a threaded bottom which takes the original SV bolt.

So either the SRAD 600 and 750 shocks are slightly different or Suzuki revised the shock in one of the years.

The one without the top is obviously the one to go for (if beggers can be choosers) as it requires no grinding. It is in fact, an exact replacement.

it's not an exact replacement, as the spring is softer and the shock is slightly longer, whether the one you got was sold without the rider height adjuster (the bolt thing on top) is more than likely and the bottom turns easily so, as I previously said, just spin it round 180'.

you will not be able to fit any shock with a fixed mount res on it without trimming off the battery support from the tank hinge, but I thought everyone knew that?

Cheers Mark.

So mines an SRAD 600 (softer spring?)

When I say no grinding I mean to shock. As you correctly state, the battery support has to go.

I can buy a similar SRAD shock for a really low price. I know it will fit a curvy model, but will it fit a K3 ?

No it wont, has to be from a later model. GSXR1000 K1 definately fits.

OK. So if there are some curvy model owners interested in a GSXR750 SRAD shock, i think my buddy was asking about 35-40£ for one. It's in good shape. He's selling it because he fitted an Ohlins on his track bike.

On this site (http://www.kuhnco.com/SV650/GSXRShockSwap/) it suggest that the zx6rr shock is for people over 190lb so it may be a bit overkill ?
