I own a full Akro system on my SV650s K4 and need to replace some damaged header pipes. the front cylinder pipe and 2-1 link pipe is damaged. Akro suppliers will only sell me the entire header which includes all the other pipes bar the end can for £245.
Does anyone know of an alternative compatible Stainless system as i dont have the money to replace the entire lot.
Many thanks

Speak to Mark Hill at MHP Exhausts. He should be able to make you whatever parts you need.
His number is 01483 - 473 473 or email him on m.h.p@virgin.net - He is based in Bisley in Surrey.

Probably worth talking to a fabricator, eg Zorstec etc, to see if they can make something to suit or possibly even repair your damaged parts.
I doubt that another maker's pipework will suit without some changes being needed.

Building new bits from scratch is probably going to cost more than £245 though...

Getting one made should definitely be quite a bit less than £245. They have got the damaged pipes to use as a template.

Mmm, well, i spoke to Zorset about getting wider headers made up from the stock system and they just said it would be uneconomic if there's an off-the-shelf exhaust that'd do what I wanted... And they quoted me £120 for the downpipe I wanted made for the 125 (got OS Stainless to do it for less)

The internal bore of the Akra I would hazard a guess is a common size so an exhaust fabricator would more than likely already have that in stock. (except of course I' wrong on the header size).
So a copy of front down pipe and 2 into 1 link pipe with a couple of spring tabs(or what ever they are called  ) is not a biggie. Going with the above quote, both bits should still come to atleast £100 pounds less what Akra wants. How much less was 'OS stainless' by the way compared to
Zorstec?
FAO Londonoz: Ring the numbers that have been given to you you might be pleasantly surprised.

Did you call Mark Hill? He's made replacement bits for Akrapovic systems for loads of racers.

£90 delivered IIRC... Or £90 not delivered, one of the two. It was nice work, but pretty slow, he was a bit busy building things for a BSB team :)

Thanks. Using that as a guide price, I would say definitely under £150.

Aye, but that was for a rear downpipe for a Yamaha Virago 125 :)
I'm just going by what Zorstec told me on the phone, but itcould well be you'll find different.
