Got a new bike, before its 600 mile service and I cant remember if the last one did this, but at 3-4,000 revs, not under load it ticks loudly. Its a high pitch on, right under the tank?
Is this normal? :?:
Im taking the bike in on Friday for its 1st service, just wondered if I should mention it?
Cheers guys, any helpful responses would be appreciated! (unlike my normal ones! lol)
Seems to be the day for paranoia relating to ticking noises, probably the same as mine :)

They do do this I think but wont hurt to mention in case its a bit different on yours.
I asked a dealer about something like that, one of the blokes took it out and said it was just the noise of the fuel injection system.

Dunno about that...the fuel injectors make a whizzing noise if I remember correctly... :?:

I was under the impression that was just a pump priming the FI.

it's not a rattle, more of a faint light cricket ticking noise.. only prominent when the bikes not under load, like going down hill. It's done less that 500 miles at, but I'll refer to the guys at JWG's and see if they can sort.
I think my old one did this, but i just forgot...
Either way will let you guys know
motorcycles make noise, the engine is not encased in a sound deadening engine compartment like in a cage. the driveline ... chain & sprockets also make noise. the noises vary with milage & revs etc, but do not go away, why...... motorcycles make noise
motorcycles make noise
And isn't it glorious 8)
By the way.. sounds like the fuel pump to me...
