I saw mini-twins racing and Brands last year - along with some of the other 'lower' divisions - and it was fantastic fun. You cant help but feel an affinity with those guys - they're out there simply because they want to be. Great stuff!

Just checked the Weather forecast for tomorrow

Did it for thirsk, leeds and darlington (thirsk about half way in between) and it looks like it will be rain free tomorrow :-)

Boy, can some of these fellas ride

1 minute 33 seconds to go around Croft - Faster than the Super Twins today too... Number 99 was the race winner by a country mile today, he was lapping over 2 seconds a lap faster than everyone else today - top drawer riding :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Racing started really late due to the poor weather - the Mini Twins was the second race & it didn't get underway until about 16:15

Plenty of qualifying before that though...

b h-ll,
you mean I could have gone home picked up my wallet, filled the bike up, raced back to Croft and still have seen the racing?

Was it all pointy's?

Pretty much really... They ran the second mini-twins race late on too, because there were concerns about the weather for the Sunday... So if you go today it'll be a very limited meet

Weather's glorious this morning too  They can't start racing 'til 12:00 though :(

Was it all pointy's?

Pretty much - there were a few curvies, but mostly pointies  Quite a few K5 to boot too

Cloggsy the Silver SV was mine. The Blue K5 was Cpt nemo's.

I thought the racing was good but had to leave after the first mini twins race to get back to Leeds to go out.

Bob collins was way in front of any other rider in the Mini twins, and how cool did the naked that qualified second look? Nigel summat, crashed out on first lap I think.

Watched a couple of the minitwins being dyno'ed before we left.

Was speaking to Nigel before the race and he was saying the bikes are restricted to 72bhp and are tested after each race. Basically the bikes are the same as most of ours. The remove the PAIR system, new springs up front, Ohlins at back and that's about it. Plus changing the bolts for lighter ones. Oh and not forgetting getting rid of the lights and panneling and fitting a new subframe.

mr courdelion an i spoke to the chap who ran the CTR team, nice bloke, nigel?, he was riding a mad looking k4 naked with big wide renthals on , it looked wicked , him and his team mate were well quick, i think his team mate won, we were sat in the grandstand (mini) when the naked one came round turn 1 you could hear the bellypan scraping when he cranked it over, how far over do you have to lean to scrape a belly pan?, he had the bin it of win it racer mentallity, unfortunately he binned it , still good to watch though while it lasted.

CTR will rent you one of there bikes if you want to do one of the minitwins races, theyll even hire you it to do a track day first.

after watching these boys Mr Courdelion and i have decided we want to be racers, just not on our own bikes...

wheres that bank loan application form......
