why not make a week out of it, and us all go in convoy to Northern France. enjoy the scenery and get ****ed with cheap booze from the hypermarkets??
Glasgow - Dover = 8 hours tops (on bike, truck = 12 hours!)
Dover - Calais (Fast Ferry) = 2 hours max
Time in France = unlimited :P

Jeeezuz, sounds tempting, hope I can get 6 months paid leave from work this year for all the trips I am planning !
Keep us informed, if there's enough of us then yep, would consider a long weekend for it.
Keeping two weeks for my tour of Ireland, done it in5-6 days last June but was too demanding, not enough rest/bevvy etc...
cheers the noo jimmy

How about a bit further South!
I just came back from work with some beautiful biking roads in my head!
I have just been in the Dordogne Valley with the truck. 17 miles of hairpin bends :P Map Reference. Soilliac

Might work out cheaper getting the ferry from Rosyth to Zebrugge...
I've just booked a ferry with Superfast leaving on 20th June and returning on 7th July for £130.70, that's bike + 1 passenger return in peak season sleeping on an airline-style seat. The ferry leaves at 5pm and arrives in Zebrugge around 10 in the morning. Can't be that bad for that price :D

And you don't like Fife because that's where you keep falling off?
