Does any of you have the partnumber for a SV1000 snorkel?

Cheers Rune

You could do worse than look at either of these....

13891-16G00 TUBE, INLET
from both of those sites, though I don't know for sure if this is the actual Suzuki part number.

Cool, thanks! I knew that you would know.

I guess that would be true of an English sparesman, however that would be around £45,45 over here. I'm buying in Holland, I know someone who is picking up an engine there, he will bring one back with him 8) .

dumb question alert

why would you put a 1000 snorkel on a 650?

Because the 1000 snorkel is less restricted than the 650 one and lets more air in.
Oh, and it makes a very cool induction roar

The sv1000 snorkle has 4 inlet channels, where as the 650 only has 2, so more air into the engine. Not sure it does much for the induction roar - you really need to raise the tank and remove the snorkle entirely for the best effect

does putting on a bigger snorkel, lifting the tank affect the fueling, i like the sound the engine makes with the tank lifted but does it bugger anything up, i notice that chewy does some spacers to lift the tank

More air with a race can "could" make the bike run lean. So the answer is yes it "may" affect the fuelling.

would it do any dameage with a normal can / filter ?

not with a standard can - the fuel injection will compensate up to certain extent. I believe it will adjust for variations up to +/- 15% approx

just makes it 'burp' or 'cough' occasionally, most noticably when shutting off the throttle in a hurry

try it - you can always put the snorkle back in

Try it when the weather is nice.

and Mr Toad, don't let northy hear you talking about the ECU compensating

Let me ask a dumb question to. :) I'm looking at a way to give my bike more air, because I'll buy a Powercommander and have a custom map made to go with my full system. I know you can remove the snorkel, but I don't want to end up with a bike that consumes fuel like a SV1000. And I've read somewhere that removing the snorkel from thet 650 has this effect. So that's why I'm thinking on getting a 1000 snorkel and put in.

Is there anyone who has actually done this mod and is it worth it???

I've got a snorkle from an SV1000 and it hasn't affected the fuel consumption. Makes the bike feel like it revs easier, but then that could just be the Scorpion making it sound that way :D

To be honest I didn't notice any increase in fuel consumption with the snorkle out, so when summer comes it'll come out again

Knaapie, or anybody else knowing, how much is the Power Commander cost in holland?

I know someone who is going there, maybe he could bring one back for me 8) .

The Powercommander can be bought for 304 euro's over here on the internet. With a group buy (which I set up) on a Dutch forum I even got a somewhat higher discount on the 337 euro retail. :)

Thanks, that is a lot cheaper than here. The cheapest price I got 3150 dkr. wich is 420 euro.

I'm going to get the guy I know to bring me back one!

Does that guy has Dutch address or something? If he has, you might want to order a Powercommander at a Dutch internetshop. Saves you even more money. But I must warn you that the Powercommander also has to be ordered by the dealers over here. So it could take a week for it to arrive. If you need a shipping address in Holland I'm willing to help if needed.

His brother lives in Holland, so it shouldn't be a problem. He will be going there in april so there is plenty of time to order one. Thanks for the offer to help though :D .

You should feel a little difference in performence, but mainly you should hear a difference in sound. I think you will need to combine it with other mods to get the full benefit.
