Air filters

Just passing my time at work window shopping for bits and bobs and got a little query , most probably a dumb question but here it goes,

The original Air filter in the SV650S K3 model is a flat slimline one , but replacement ones on various sites show this kind http://www.motorcycle-parts-finder.co.uk/images/saf76a.jpg whether its K&N or a local replacement or something similar ,

Is there any difference in between the two apart from shape and design and is it just a straight forward swap over with no further tweaking etc,

Haha i like that , but its a rarity , a call-centre with half the phones down, no calls sheer bliss , how can i manage till 11pm i'll never know

Anyone then got any reliable dealers they get theres from or should i just get the dealer to order it for us,
