I want to get my first set of leathers and have set my price limit to £600, what is the best i can get for my money? Which is better cow or kangeroo?
Are the Alpinestars GPU 2 piece suit any good. I have seen: had for 2 months and crashed in twice.

and recon they must be pretty good in an 'off', but are they comfy? And will a back protector fit in alright?

Also, where can i find a set so GPU's the cheapest? and is there anything (2 piece only) better on the market for £600?

Cheers

Get your back protector first - then you have it when you try on various leathers.

Roo leather is far better than cow. I could get really technical and sad on you as I have made leather armour etc for re-enactment and stuff, but it's basically to do with the arrangement of the skin's fibres and the lack of sweat glands etc.

Look, just trust me OK - don't make me prove I'm a leather nerd!

If you're thinking of doing a trackday then you'll need a single piece suit or a two peice that zips up completely around the waist.

Oh yeah, ALWAYS try you leathers our sitting on a bike (preferably your own or one of a similar seating position) if you can. At the very least crouch down like you're going to take a dump in the middle of the shop.
Worst thing to buy a set of comfy leathers and then get on your bike, only to find they are uncomfortable and throttle you or something, and all they are good for is posing on a street corner. :?

And dont forget, decent Gloves will be about £100, as they are made out of the sexual organs of Kangaroos :P

Save more money and buy made to measures, if you ever do you'd never buy off the peg again. They fit right, last longer and most importantly work better.

You'll spend more money, but I can't stress how huge a difference, for the better, there is.

And of course, if you really desire a pink and orange two piece, with green trim, and flowers, it's all your choice.
