Mine is West Canal Wharf / Tresillion Way Cardiff (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=318500&Y=176000&width=700&height=400&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=GB&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=0&scale=5000&multimap.x=340&multimap.y=322)

Travelling south on St. Mary Street under the railway parallel to W. Canal Wharf, approaching a roundabout with traffic lights. The lane splits into 3, the road markings are, left only, left & straight-on, straight-on only.

The left hand road is three lanes but one way. Next junction, about 200 yds. away is left only, straight-on only, straight-on & right.

Monday.

At the approach I choose the middle lane and indicate left intending to take the middle lane. Some fool in the left lane, without looking, immediately takes the middle lane, forcing evasive action.

Tuesday.

I take the left lane and indicate, intending to take the left lane then switch to the middle soon after the junction. White Van who was in the middle decides to cut across me.

Wednesday.

Middle lane, indicate left, this time I’ll stay out of trouble, I’ll go wide and take the right lane. Cage in the straight-on only lane decides to go left!

I’ve come to the conclusion that this junction is a free for all and the white paint on the road is just there to give bikers an addition challenge.

Whinge Over - I feel better now

Roundabout in the middle of Dunstable

Cant remember the lane layout - no point in remembering - what ever lane you are in and whatever direction you want to go in - you get cut up.

Alternatively the A1(M) / M25 at South Mimms - same again - any lane, any direction!

I share your views on that one. I feel vulnerable on the right-turn just after the railway bridge onto Lloyd George Ave too, coz the filter holds the traffic in the rh lane for the right turn.

Swindon's famous "magic roundabout". It's not actually that hard/intimidating, but the problem is that a lot of cagers just lose it on there and put their foot down to get across it as fast as possible. I remember learning there and I looked to the right, saw a Beemer 2 roundabouts off, looked left, clear, look right again and am just about to pull out, whe the beemer is there in front of me! Rather than go round each mini roundabout, he had just driven in a straight line over the top of both of them...

Prize goes to the Magic Roundabout!

It's a classic - I know it too well. Sadly it's the strangers to the area who don't. If you haven't come across it, it is a roundabout you can go round in either direction - There's another in Hemel Hempstead

There's one of those things in Essex near Canvey Island I think. Bloody nightmare.

My least favorite junction is Gallows Corner in Romford. Rush hour is a complete free for all.

Bottom of Wallows Road in Brierley Hill, turning right after a recent event.

It's a pain to get out with the weight of traffic so you really have to be on the ball and take any chance that presents itself. I was in the works van, theres another WVM coming from my right indicating to turn in, and just enough room to gun it out without inconveniencing the driver approaching left. So I do that. And the WVM doesn't turn in! No collision, just, but I end up looking a complete turd. AAAARRRRRGGGHHH!

So as I pull sheepishly away I spot the police car behind me. I'd pulled over 100 yards up the road before they even needed to put the blues on. Thankfully a short chat later, they can see that I'm not a habitual idiot and send me on my way.

The Dartford A206 Southbound going towards the Crossways Estate and the low road to Bluewater, that is turning off after crossing the bridge

To date my company have had 14 accidents on this junction purely because people will not comply with the lane markinGs We are now in the situation of keeping a ten photograph set of the junction layout just for the insurance company

The problem being two lanes go into four, the nearside two go left to Dartford/Erith and the Offside two for straight ahead and right off the roundabout. So,to go on the industrial park you use what is the third lane[It is clearly marked for this] but the traffic is flying up the slip at 45/50mph,30mph limit, in the inside lane of the two lane part and just carry straight on at the top when they should be slowing and changing into the third lane

Unfortunately a truck doesn't the acceleration if we have been stopped on the hill by the traffic lights so not occassionaly but every bl**dy time we pull away you get some plonker overtaking in the inside who wants to go straight on and you don't always see them in your mirrors because the are in the wrong lane and the mirror doesn't have the field of vision to pick them up

I am not fibbing when I say I have two near misses every day and it is just a matter of time before somebody ends up under a trailor DEAD because to overtake in the inside they end up drivng over the chevrons which the trailor wheels swing over due to the narrow lanes

Obviously I/we know of this constant stupidity and take every bit of care possible but it is a fatal waiting to happen------only hope it isn't by my hand

P.S. Every accident we've had at this junction has been judged the third parties fault I could probably earn more in lost earnigs with an old banger waiting for it to happen every day than working it is honestly that bad

Anywhere near Donnington after the GP

Other than that, the first junction of the Stockley Bypass (A408) where it comes off the M4 junction and towards Hayes. There is a series of traffic lights (3 I think) over about 100 metres. Locals readily jump the red lights from Shepiston Lane and I've had 2 near misses plus seen numerous accidents there.

It used to be called "Cherry Lane Roundabout" but the local council decided to change it into this series of lights. Bloody dangerous it is....

I use the Magic Roundabout at least twice a week and as a biker, I always take the outside route.
It may be physically further, but it's quicker and safer because cagers are like sheep (no insult intended Blacksheep :) ) and "herd" together on the most direct route, jamming the mini roundabouts on their route.........while I travel effortlessly around the outside. It works everytime :)

Swindon Magic Roundabout - do they take you across it on a driving test?

Mine is Bayley's Island - the roundabout at Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, where the A5 (east-west) dual carriageway meets the A49 (north-south) dual carriageway. It also has an exit for services, a Little Chef, and a garden centre. Getting across the roundabout is just awful. Lane discipline routinely ignored, people don't indicate, traffic is very fast. Not for the faint-hearted.

I've had a look at the pictures of it, and it actually looks less intimidating than a few double mini-roundabouts they have in Southampton.
