I might actually turn up this week.
I've got nothing interesting happening this weekend and it looks like the weather is going to stay dry for once.

Well I certaintly do need a new set of winkas, so would appreciate first refusal on them. Need to change the seriously crappy ones on the front. Are these the ones that need a resistor or something like that to make them flash at the normal rate :?:

In that case I gracefully decline the nice offer and let someone else have them. I will make do with the ones that I have for now. When I have the cash I want to get the ones that Rictus has just aquired. Thanks again for the offer though.

woo hoo.. thats easier..
Might be meeting scoob's on the A3 (if he's out and about), and both of us coming up. So who would be happy guiding us from there???? Unless your happy being dragged round Sudoxe... Probably use a serivce station past the M25 juntion, can anyone name one, not be that far myself for a while.

"G" I have been given an evening pass by Mrs Scoobs so I will be out Friday. Come on all you Soho regulars. Give me and Grinch a hand and an offer to guide us to Neros. With my sense of direction we have no chance.
what time are you planning on meeting on A3? i could meet you early on and guide you in but it would have to be around 5-ish.
A3....elp im lost already!
I dont mind being dragged anywhere as long as its now p***ing it down or snowing.

why not ask carsick? he'll be coming in from your way I think.... just a thought....

To stop Mrs Grinch nicking the roast potatoes????!!!!!
Traffic wardens.
I take it there is no off road parking then.... or motorcycle parking in the area.
To stop Mrs Grinch nicking the roast potatoes????!!!!!
She'd never do that, Jax always has plenty of her own, though I might finish the left overs.
We park on double yellow lines.
On a side note, i might have some 100% coco chocolate, if i dont eat it all. WOW! Its bitter.
Dan
I have just realised the small dig in the poll... Back out?? dunno who he is on about... do you Jonboy?? couldn't possibly be us two......

no off road unless you want to squeeze between the tables and chairs on the pavements... If you want an idea of what its like, BillyC posted pics of the first meet of the year in the photos section...
the "motorcycle parking bay" as defined by the soho massive is right outside Neros... its just that Westminster council consider it to be yellow lines rather than accept our interpretation of the area
the police leave us alone, in fact the police motorcycles usually park up with us too..... its the traffic wardens that need the commission you have to watch for....
plastic bags fine.... as long as it can obscure the number youre ok....
If you are talking about going straight up the A3 there is a Shell station on the roundabout where the A3 go's under the A243. No services or anything but a meeting point.
What time are you planning on meeting? I could potentially meet you at the A3 I can then use the sat nav to guide us there
Carsick
10-03-05, 12:00 PM
The A3 isn't the easiest way in by a long way.
Easiest way is the M3 then joining the A316 at Sunbury. We can still cut across to the A316 from the A3, but I always miss that turning.
If you want to go from the A3 through Wandsworth then we can try it, but I've already got lost round there once, I'm not that keen on trying it again.
Patch, if the A3 route was taken, the satnav would definitely be necessary.
Michael,
Are you going tomorrow?
I have PM'd you!
well I can get to the 316 easy.. as I'm just a few miles away... can you get there 2 scoobs.. its just M25.. J12, M3, then M3 til it becomes the 316

G, that makes life easy, then.
I've suggested to Scoobs that we stop at the petrol station in the Tescos just off Junction 1 of the M3.
We haven't sorted out a time, yet, but I would expect to be there around 1900if I leave at my usual 1700.

Well I can meet you at the tesco's. let me just check my maps for where it is.
Ah I go past it every day.. never even noticed it was there.... :-)
its oposite the Dairy place....
Hmm I think I will show up. Haven't riden the bike for a while. If you lot are meeting up in sunbury I can guide you in. I am leaving from staines so I can easily detour to sunbury, although I must confess that I hate going in that way, you have twickenham, richmond, several speed cameras & idiots. But I don't mind :)

I'll happily guide you guys in, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get away from work on Friday - I am crazily busy at the mo. I'm supposed to finish at 3 on Fridays, but since I started the job I've never got away before 7-7:30
However, if I have a proper excuse, then I'll get away OK
I'm working in Knightsbridge, near Harrods, so can cover most of the SW approaches
Where are you coming from :?:
If it's Pompey, then the A3 is quickest route into town
Drop me a pm & we can exchange mobile no's, and co-ordinate things :riding:
cheers

Anybody and everybody is welcome to join us but no need to guide us in.
Apart from the possibility of coming into Frith street from the wrong end, I should be ok guiding Scoobs and Grinch in.
If it's Pompey, then the A3 is quickest route into town
I know the A3 is technically the quickest from there, but going via the A3 adds about 40 minutes onto my journey. Plus the fact that I have no intention of finding my way through Wandsworth to get to Soho and I always miss the turning to get up onto the A4 or the A316.
All in all, it's just easier for me to come up the M3.
Ok see you lot tomorrow then
Definite no-show this Friday I'm afraid... I'll be in a stuffy transit van on the way to the Peak District! :driving:
I've finally got my chain and sprockets fitted... now just a bit of servicing, cleaning, brake-overhauling, remapping and I'll be ready for the roads again!

Not Heston, it's quite a bit out of the way and that part of the M25 is pretty crowded at that time on a Friday night.
Harrods is ok with me, but we may be running a little bit later, ie, getting into central london about 2000 ish. It might not be worth the bother, since it's not that much further from there to get into Westminister.
i'd probably get thumped if i turned up
who wants to thump Keithd?
well should be there usual time 7-7.30ish depending on how bored I am at work.... assuming I can be bothered to go tomorrow.... havent bothered this week other than monday... sometimes its good to be a civil servant :D
redeeming loyalty cards... I have about 12 of them, all in various stages of completion... do you think theyd let me compile them together to get my free cream with hot chocolate?

Hey Keithy... if anyone is small minded enough to hold a grudge for a diffrence of opinion shared on line they they are a pr@ IMHO.
Too many things can be taken the wrong way when expressed in text only.
If its just a diffrence of opinion about an issue.... isnt that what makes a site like this interesting? That we all have our own individual opinions?
How dull would it be if we all felt the same way about things.
Especialy as we all seem quite adept at raising emotive issues (hunting) and are all in ownership of a wooden spoon on our keyboards. ;)
No one likes me anyway.... so if you come along youwont be the only one

I am one VERY UNHAPPY bunny right now..... suffice to say a silver honda cbf600 will be parked in Frith Street tomorrow...
gear lever/hanger, clutch lever sorted so bike no longer parked in gear so at least I can move the thing (should have seen the fun me and recovery guy had getting a bike stuck in gear and broken clutch lever and gear lever off a recovery truck - me hold the bike with brake on as he pulls up the ramp... )
but throttle stuck - though this has now sorted itself out, but after Marks recount at the Selkent meet of the approaching 3 lines of brake lights at speed ease off and bike doesnt slow down, kill switch off and bike still doesnt slow down, ignition off and bike finally slows down I appreciate it might be advisable not to be on the SV  .
Also, as Mark pointed out, my pipes shouldnt be glowing red
oh and I have less than 100 miles careful riding on the rear tyre....
and Ive just come upstairs to post this and left my beer downstairs
but huge huge thanks to Mark for his help today, it really appreciated even if it now seems theres more damage than initially thought. Teas on my tomorrow.

eh... theres always beer in my house.... take it you didnt notice the large stack of empty bottles by the sink  must sort out when the recycling lorry comes and get rid of them.. 1 bottle leffe blond, 1 bottle hoegaarden in fridge and had 3 bottles of kriek (cherry beer for the unitiated cos tescos had run out of the raspberry beer  ) which is now half a glass... :D
sorry didnt think (understatement I know).... wouldve offered but after your opinion of fruit in sausages last night wouldnt have dared offered you a fruit beer.... and the leffe and hoegaarden arent the small bottles either

bet i could fill my mum's pub up with all the booze in your house hope those recycling lorry's are big enough for all those empty's in fact i bet you could be a very rich women if you sold back all those empty's to the beer company's
Damn Lyn, you sure are having more than your fair share of bad luck at the moment. :( At least we can play "jackpot" again
thats not to mention what happened after Mark left... was outside and started up the SV and noted the sticky throttle wasnt sticking anymore which is a good sign... obviously wasnt happy with the lack of use
so having listented to Mark get onto the M20 I went indoors. In my living room I have 2 double glazed panes. 1 pane if I half turn handle opens as a window and if I fully turn handle it opens as door. This wouldnt shut.... so Im trying to figure whats wrong wishing this had happened 10 mins earlier when Mark was still here...
Eventually the whole thing derailed  (yeah Im so used to derailments  ) so Im looking at what is a 6ft something by 4ft double glazed window off its rails.... so call my cousin to come over and help... answerphone... so being the resourceful gal that I am, managed to lift said double glazed window back onto its rail......
anyone for arm wrestling tomorrow night? clearly Im stronger than I thought I was :D
