Chavness of the highest order I am afraid.

Like IanSV says, there have been rumours of them splitting valves and causing the tyre to deflate.

If it weren't for both of the above, would they have a use as a safety feature to make your bike more visible in the dark?

There not rumors.. its true.. in my darker days I had some blue ones on my SV. I had a a front tyre deflation at 90 in the outside lane, it tore the valve open. Though the tyre kept the shape it was a bit hairy.

The wife duke has red ones, but she's got metal valves.

On a car I'd say they looked chav, but looking like a Tron cycle might be (nerdy) fun 8)

What's the legality on them (are white ones okay)?

I think the other brands are worse as they are larger, you can use them but be sure the keep a eye on them.

Short of painting your bike in a Burberry fashion this must be the chaviest thing you could do!!!

Anything that puts extra weight onto your valves is likely to cause a problem, so all of them will probably do it.

Yeah but no but yeah I got these red ones right but they're $h1t hot coz I got metal valves an' they don't tear.... Grinch and I saw a burberry nova when we were on our way to the bulldog bash last year..... it had a chav related website link displayed in the rear window. Shocking.
