I have just received my policy documents through the post with a temporary stiffkit, Its not a cover note, but expires within 1 month if I dont prove my NCB
How do I get proof?
I was insured for the last 2 years through Rampdale, but I have changed brokers to Bennetts. Will I be able to get proof from my last company? without paying any extra

The schedule your last insurer provided you with for renewal should be OK as proof. Otherwise just phone them and ask them to provide you with proof of NCB. It should not be chargable.

Didn't you get a renewal notice from Rampdale ? That would normally state how many 'no claims' bonus you are entitled to and would be sufficient as proof for the new broker.

Ask you previous insurers for proof of your NCB. It shouldn't be chargable and they are usually fine with sending it out in good time.

Or supply Bennetts with your old policy number and ask them to phone Rampdale and confirm it over the phone.

That sounds like a reasonable plan. I emailed Rampdale but got no reply and I think they only have one phone in the BT box outside the office :P
But so what Rampdale were very cheap for my first 2 years of ownership

Yes, the lesson here is to keep all the notifications and statements for renewal even if you are not renewing with the same insurer. I had to do same. Never had it with the car before.
:( Just got my letter of NCB from AXA in Germany and I'd thought I had 2 years.... no it said 0...yes ZERO even though it said I'd had been claim free from 10/03/02 untill 09/12/04 (got diffrent insurance over here in the UK) Seams like you have to beg for the proof of NCB, even then you only get one year every two years insured !!!
A real P1s5er Me thinks...
Norwich Union are on the case...
