Really good so far. Had rain today, which is normally a surefire way to fog-up. Nothing at all.
No low sun yet to test reactolite, but recommend so far.
Second best accessory purchased. Top place to Oxford Heated Grips, which make the difference between commuting and, well, not...

Yep, i love mine as well... Wish the light-reactive part was a bit more light-reactive though, they just don't go dark enough to make any real difference IMHO.
The insert is great, but it's not reactive enough to make any tangible difference.
Haven't noticed any great difference in the light-reactive part, but the not-fogging up bit - marvellous.
Anyone else get annoyning extra reflections? Quite irritating on night city riding.

I'm umming and arring about getting a caberg v2 lid. It has 2 visors (1 "sunglasses" type inner visor). Do you reckon I'd need 2 visor inserts, or just the 1? If it's bright enough to warrant the "sunglasses" in winter, it'd probably be crisp enough not to mist up, right?
Secondly, if you reckon I would need 2, do you think the light reactive part is so minimal that I could safely line an already darkened visor with it? If not, can you get non-light reactive versions (but which still provide anti-misting)? The bog stanfdard "Fog City Shield" (not hyper optik version) looks like it'd fit the bill.
Thanks.

The only thing I don't like about mine is the black outline around it, it is so off putting, but I guess you get used to it. Mine goes dark enough for most situations, the only time it doesnt is when the sun is setting in the horizon.

I dont think they will fit on the smaller internal visor mate. IIRC the internal visor is shaped around your nose and pretty small. A fog City is visor shaped, and I would imagine a lot bigger.

The Caberg (V1 anyway) doesnt need a fogcity insert, the clear visor is antifog already 8)
The sun visor is not antifog, but doesnt seem to mist unless stoped anyway.

So is the clear visor on my Soumy Gunwind, thats why I have a FogCity fitted  Suomy's anti fog visors are rubbish IMHO

That's my plan as well.
Though I have heard they're quite noisy.

The V1 isnt that well ventilated I should add (although that's compared to an Arai with 7 vents on it) which means it gets a little stuffy in summer. It also means in winter, if it gets cold enough, you can get condensation. Hopefully this has been solved with the V2 though
I wouldn't say it's that noisy either, but then I've not compared that many lids.
mine is very good indeed, turns blue colour which matches me bike colour...

I tend to wear earplugs for anything over 10 miles, so noise isn't a major factor for me unless it's really bad.
I've always thought it a shame you can't "test ride" helmets for a week (obvious why you shouldn't- same reason as 2nd hand helmets :) ), try them in the wet, see what the noise is like, wind chill on the motorway, etc.

The anti-fog is great but the blue tint was not really up to the low sun today. Much better than having nothing but not as good as a proper tint, I reckon.
Still overall product is good.

The antifog visor on the caberg actualy works.
I hadn't realised until today just how well it works AND how useful the dark inner visor is. I'm having to use my son's crappy £50 "special" whilst mine's painted and when the sun hit me this morning, I felt someone had glued my eyelids open in a desert

I've just bought the clear Fogcity.
Was advised by a mate in work that the ones that change colour aren't that good, as they tend to take ages getting back to normal clear colour when you come out of tunnels or the light changes suddenly ???
(Take that as it comes).
Paid 10 quid for this clear one anyway, alsobeen told to take care putting it on, as you only have 1 go at it, cos the sticky bits are really sticky..
Should be in the post tomorrow.

The antifog visor on the caberg actualy works.
Well mine didn't (second one at that). I've got a fog city fitted now.
You should expect the coating to wear off over time(says sales person) but em...mine never worked properly since new so can I have another visor please. Got a replacement and more or less the same.
Cheers
Ben
I've got an AGV and the antifog visor is utterly useless. I don't remember having as many misting problems with the helmet i had as a teenager - can't remember the brand but it cost about £40.
So... is fogcity the way to go? I've seen some Oxford versions going on ebay for around a fiver - anyone tried these?

Hey ophic, My Shoei used to fog up really badly, Since I put the fog city on it it has banished all my fogging up problems in one easy go.
I have noticed on particular cold mornings that when I arrive at work and remove my lid that the area that isnt covered by the insert is all fogged up but the area that is covered by the fog city isnt, if that makes sense
It is IMHO opinion a really good product, however you will notice some slight distortion / extra reflection / ghosting at night
I havent tried the oxford version but I am sure I read a review in a bike Mag and the fogcity came out tops
HTH
cheers fizzwheel. Fogcity it will be then. Can anyone recommend a place to order one online?
