And their £30 policy amendment fee
£30 doesnt sound too bad. Better phone up about it tomorrow. Cheers for the advice.

Don't do it.
Take the GF pillion that is.
I deliberately opted out of carrying a pillion as I have the bike for peace and quiet (Even with a big CCC can) I have enough earache with her indoors back seat driving
However, I am pleased to read that if you are considering having someone on the back end that you will sort out the insurance first.
Next don't forget to add a couple of clicks on the chocks

Good advice. Make sure you up the preload on the rear shock otherwise the bike will be very wallowy

You're not joking. I gave a bloke who had a flat tyre a lift to the nearest Hein Gericke. Not a very big fella but evidently heavier than the lovelies i'm used to carrying :D
Phoned the insurance this morning and got it sorted out for nothing. Even though i said i wasnt taking pillions it turns out i am covered to take them anyway. Next jobs getting that shock sorted.
Cheers everyone,
Paul
dunno about the SV, but my CBR takes pillions quite easily.
havent gotta change the suspension or anything,
but i suppose, i dont really hoon it when i got someone on the back.

The SV does ok. If the pillion is much heavier than the rider it gets a bit more difficult, but not impossible.

It's worth cranking up the rear one notch. I leave mine like that all the time, now as I carrying a few pillions. Makes it a bit skitish when I'm on my own, though.

I had to crank mine up a few notches just to deal with my own riding style (and my topbox). Since I did that it handles all but the heavy pillions quite happily.
