took my K3 for a spin today

filled up with petrol

5 minutes down the road and onto a local by-pass

looked down and the speedo was reading zero !

carried on for 10 minutes

came to a set of traffic lights - stopped

pulled away and it started working again !

are there any known issues with crap getting onto the sensor

at the front and causing temporary problems ?

all the best

brian lewis.

I had a broken coil wire on my K2 that used to do that. It made it easier to find though

Talking bout dodgy speedo's. my did the same thing on my k3 yesterday. :(
I sorted it so far by following the speedo cable to find a 90 degree bend of slack near to where its attached near the front left disc. tugged it slightly upwards to get rid of the bend/slack and brought the slack upwards to a bend thats less harsh and mines been ok 2day. :D

Do K3s use the same sort of suicidal speedo sensor as the older bikes? If so, chances are it's just the pickup that's packed in, as they love to do.

Alternatively, I had an intermittant speedo faul that was caused by low voltage (or current, I don't know which) from a loose battery terminal.
