I am looking to purchace a steering damper (ebay) without a mounting kit (or with on to a different bike) because I have the capabilities to machine up my own mounts. I was wondering what the travel of your steering dampers are for both top mounts and fork tube mounted dampers are? I do not want to purchace a damper with too short of a stroke.
On a side note, when I contacted the reps at Ohlins I was treated like a dirtbag and was not given any information. They actually hung up on me when I asked them to look at which length damper they sell to people buying for SV's. Sorry, had to vent-

The Ohlins damper for the SV650s(99-02) is SD161 - 63mm stroke
SV650s(03) is SD171 - 63mm stroke.
Got the above from the demon tweeks catalogue . There are a few Ohlins dampesr for other bike which are also 63mm stroke. I may be able to send you a copy of the page by e-mail if that is any more help to you.
Cheers
