Well, the long wait is finally over. My bike (K5 NKD in Blue) has arrived and wil be with me on Friday, just in time for the Easter week off.

To say I am excited is a bit of an understatement, I can't wait. Although I am a bit apprehensive about taking it out fot the 1st. time. Its been 5 1/2 months since I passed my test (Oct.). I suppose thats no bad thing instead of the "no fear" attitude.

I am proposing a couple of quiet easy going rides to get familiar with the riding position and the controls and then I'll meet up with a mate who has a curvy. He also just passed his test in Dec. so we should be good for each other.
I'll leave the rides with work mates for a little while yet.

Anyway, once I get settled, I'll post a few photos, if I can suss the free hosting an' all that.

Just take it easy and make sure you scrub the tyres properly before you do anything more than a gentle ride, the Dunlop tyres fitted on the SV really don't grip much when thy're new, well they didn't for me anyway.

I know what you mean. I've had quite a break from biking, just take it easy and you'll soon forget any concerns you had! Its something you never forget!

One of my mates is in a similar position to you. My advice would be don't feel pressured to go too fast- the SV will probably be a big leap up from the bike you learnt to ride on, coupled with the obvious effects of being a bit rusty.

Probably good that you're a bit nervous, shows you'll be careful :)

Also, as someone else said, be v. careful till the tires have done 100 miles or so- I was wheel spinning all over the shop

So you kept the faith with the dealer then. I'm sure that when you actually get the bike all the probs will seem like they never happened.

Yes I did and already the hassles seem to be fading ever so fast in my mind.
They are official Suzuki agents and as stated on my "pi553d off" thread" they are keen to make sure everything is in order for me but if delivery slips then theres probably not alot they can do about it.

Ah well, roll on Friday.....that reminds me, its only 2 days to go now. 8)

Being completely irreverent, they don't call it 'Good' Friday for nothing
