View Full Version : 500 miles on my 125 - Am I mad?
Yup, to Plymouth and back (NOT on one day).
Quite impressed with the little thing. I took the old A30 back which was about 100 miles of 70mph single carriage way fun. :)
Thats what I call commitment!
What sort of 125 is it? Not a CG I hope?!
Yes John, you are mad! You need to get yourself a proper bike! :P
I'm impressed!
No you're not mad.... just enthuisiastic!
If it's mad you're after then read Rictus01's story about his marathon ride on his FS-1E way back when dinasours roamed the earth!

Used to commute 100 mile round trip on my 125.
It was an Aprilia RS125 so was pretty quick, but it wasn't an ideal commuter for that sort of distance.
mine was a bn125 eliminator....
at least it was comfy...

A friend of mine took his NSR125 across France, through England all the way to Bristol, in one day. And back again a week later. Nutcase. I found France tiring enough on my SV, on a 125 though....? No thanks.
i did 130 miles on my RS125 and that was enough for my legs, ankles, ****, arms, back... in fact everything. race croutch for 130 miles is NOT GOOD!
my mate done southend and back on his 125,
the taillight came off and almost hit me.
and the exhaust has now melted the pillion footpegs.
he was doing 70 tho all the way :)

I did Aberystwyth - Birmingham and back on a CG. It was raining hard with floods across most of Wales. That was the day I learnt the terror of losing the front end mid-corner at 50mph on the side of a mountain.

I did a 120 mile trip on a 125 with a pillion passenger and luggage. Max speed 35mph (if we were lucky).

I did a billion miles on a 50cc moped, in a thunder storm. Wearing only my pants. In one sitting. With a broken leg. And four bandits on my tail, trying to steal my moped.

You went on the Eurotour then....

Didnt you have a flat tyre the entire way and were pulling a wheelie for most of it?

I did Chelmsford to Cromer and back in a day on my old Aprilia AF1 (210 miles), many years ago - took me about a week to recover and stand up straight again

Must of burned a gallon of 2-T oil, and never was the same after that trip.

They were cheap and bullet proof. That's about the only good things you can say about the cg.
That said, I was sad to see mine go.
Paid £100 for it, made a profit a year later when the MOT had run out and the exhaust was falling off.
