Did you ask that bloke who parked his car in Holes Bay the same question?

I was diverted yesterday morning while they fished out a body

Must organise a Massive visit later in the summer, when the nights are longer and the weather more reliable.

mattSV
08-04-05, 06:15 PM
I expect we will be going down again if the weather looks like being ok.

Bring your ear plugs coz I seem to have lost my baffles

It was a good turnout for the first meet of the season - highlight for me was hearing the Boss Hoss (5.7 litre V8) start up

Could meet at M27 junction 8 at about 5:45 or Rownhams at about 6 ish

Carsick

If I come along, the petrol station on the A31 just up from Burley is good for me.

All being well I will be going again with Andy Harvey from Paragon. Will probably be leaving Gosport about 5:30 so should be able to meet up at Rownhams.

mattSV

Yep - not sure where we lost you.

Scoobs and I had a little play on the way home on the roundabouts / dual carriageways - saw some 'interesting' speeds (130 at one stage  )

Carsick
12-04-05, 08:53 PM
I hung back on one of the dual carriage ways cos I couldn't see Banjo in my mirrors anymore. didn't see which way you went on the next roundabout so I had a little play of my own.
Ended up going back through b'mouth, it's a shorter route and there are some fun roundabouts that way.

I admit to not being the best on roundabouts and I haven't had Lorraine on the back all that much so it is still a learning curve for the pair of us.

We did enjoy ourselves though and she didn't bat an eye lid at a ton plus later one, good girl!

Normally meet up with Banjo at the Fareham junction of the M27. Pick up sometimes at Rownhams and also along the A31.

Hope to be there. Rownhams is a pig to get to from my direction as I join the A31 at Cadnam so will probably head for Burley. I assume the 'Burley' meet is the services / petrol station just before the Poulner Hill down to Ringwood.??

Carsick
06-05-05, 10:14 AM
I'm not quite sure which bit is Poulner Hill, but the petrol station is the picket post, it's at the junction between Burley Street and the A31.
I'm usually there about 6pm.

Quality evening lads, well worth the trip.

I see matt and scoobs waited for me and carsick :D

Quite surprised i caught you up scoobs, did that part of the motorway have a speed trap?

Anyway cool turnout and some awesome bikes, I espically liked the rolling thunder as we pulled up to a couple of lights :D cheers guys!

Scoobs
11-05-05, 06:58 AM
I must admit I was pretty surprised to see you pull up beside me. I wasn't hanging around on the way back. Not too excessive mind. I tend to slow down for roadworks etc, cos I know a few people who have been trapped.

Good night all in all, unfortunately, I got to work this morning and my clutch cable snapped. Still, could've been worse.

Enjoyable evening, it was good to meet you guys (and girl). Sorry for rushing off but the lure of a prize was too much to resist. However Bike Magazine never did phone back, I can only assume now that these phone calls I keep missing are some form of sales pitch. If this is the case they are on dodgy ground as I'm signed up to the TPS which should block all nuisance advertising calls.

Only just got home Carsick?!

Was everything ok Carsick, I wasnt sure if that was your turning off or not and only saw the services sign when i went past the turn off DOH!

Caught up with Scoobs right at the end of the Journey past junction 11 of the M27, just before it goes into the M275 into Portsmouth.

Carsick

I went to a "friend's" house in Southampton. Was planning on stopping and asking you which way you were going. Should've indicated earlier, I think.

We were taking it easy as I was getting low on fuel (light came on at Rownhams). Having said that, Scoobs couldn't resist giving it some on one of the downhill bits of the A31, which was nice :D

Did you notice my slight kerfuffle as I came off one roundabout, only to discover the sharp left hander immediately after it?
I know the A31 well enough to speed along sections of it, but you might have noticed that I slowed down dramatically a few times cos there are bits where it's just plain dodgy.

falc
11-05-05, 11:34 PM
Hehe yer, i wondered why you were speeding up and then slowing down massivly i just figured speed traps or summin, anyway there was no rush... ;)

Hmmm i prolly do remember it, how far in was it? i liked the fact we sped massivly towards that speed camera at one point and slowed down last minute, speed cameras doing their work :D

Ever had one of those months when all your plans get changed for you?

There was I looking forward to another run to the Quay and (unfortunatley) the other half has popped her back and can hardly move poor girl.

Because of that, and the fact that I am buggering off to France on the bike for a long weekend with some mates, I will not be going for the next few weeks.

At least it runs through to September!! See you folks soon.
