Spotted this on ebay...

Is there such thing as an SV400? Its been on ebay for quite a few weeks now...

Yup, it was only available as a Japanese import. Not a bad bike by all accounts.

dk imports have got one in they seem to hold there price really well.

Think you misunderstood, Burner was saying that it was supplied standard with a 33bhp restrictor. IIRC derestricted it pulls 48bhp.

Don't really see the point myself, a bike that's designed for a smaller lump usually gets the benefit in light weight and small size, but the SV400's basically a 650 with just a few differences. In Japan it makes sense with their license laws. (apparently there's never been an SV650 in Japan, and they're still making 400 curveys for the domestic market, black frames and all)

They do have a rather tidy tailpiece with no grabrail holes- I've been wanting to get my mits on the centre section for a while now. Also, apparently you can swap the CDI right into a carbed 650 to raise the redline by 1000rpm. If you're brave :)

the 400 can shift - I know I tried to follow one once, but the rider was out doing me - not my bike, but mentally it was exhausting. They turn in so sweetly
