i brought the bike a couple of months back, and i got it very cheap, as there were a couple of minor things wrong with it. ther are some dents in the tank where the person who had the bike before me put some renthals on it, and decided not to cut them down at first so obviously they have dented the tank. any suggestions on how to get these little *******s out or is it going to be a new tank for me???
I dont think you can get them out because the tank is double lined.
What you could do is get it resprayed and when they blast the paint off they can then fill the dents in and make them dissapear.

Dents can be removed with a vacuum pump. I think. Might have dreamt that.
Take the tank off and take it to a body shop. They tack a pin onto the tank and use a slide puller. Then they grind the pins off and spray. Not sure on the tank being double skined though. I would try to source one second hand, or bit the buillit and buy new.
I've been told they can be repaired by quite a few places i've contacted... bought a spare tank to go with the rest of the panels for my respray, only a minor dent, then i can also get my big dent taken out my main tank once swapped and probably flog it
I thought they were now double skinned for saftey to try stopping the fuel comming out if the skin gets dammaged in a crash.

Ah, I need to get a dented tank repaired too. Will see if I can find a bodyshop who'll pull it.
I can't see why the double skin would stop it being pulled as you only need to pull the outer.
I'd prefer to get it pulled than filled and painted so I'll give it a go.

yea im gonna have to contact a few places. the thing with most of these ways is that it needs respraying, and that starts to cost a bit. :( . if i can get it vacuumed that would be best.
I don't know how to get dents out but I have got quite good at putting them in. If I were to take my tank cover off my tank would resemble one of those kettle drums

I haven't dared to look under my tank cover after two offs. I don't think it rolled onto the tank, but I'm just not willing to find out.
