View Full Version : Rear paddock stand...cheap!
Can anyone recommend a cheap rear paddock stand?
I only need one to oil the chain.
seen this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=25644&item=7967597471&rd=1
anybody tried one? good/bad?
all those type are pretty much the same, nothing fancy, but will do the job.
If your gonna be doing regular maintenance you can make the job much easier with an abba or nws stand

I've got a Micron and Abba stand and they are both good stands.

mines like that - was 28 quid from local shop-
see the postage on that e bay one £8..
u might as well get one straight away ! or for a few more quid (double) get a scottoiler..
I ended up paying another fiver for bobbins and a tenner for hooks as it is so much easier than with the cups....so maybe i shudda got a scottoiler meself- cos liek u- all i do is use the PS to oil the chain!!-----
---- bike looks kissy though up on the paddock stand .....makes my garden look like a pit lane !
My first stand was very cheap - a bit of 2*2 cut to a length of about 16 inches, which I wedged under the right hand side of the swing arm next to the bobbin mount - this meant that the back wheel was held about 1/2 inch of the floor by the stand and the wood.
PS - I now have an Abba stand

You could try the traditional Brick stand...
But probably better going with the generic universla stands that everyone sells- I got mine used but you see the same ones at shows for around £15. Some people say to get the hooks, but I like the cup methods myself anyway so I'd say save your money.
