I found NCD made little difference to my quotes. I have 7 years, but currently in use on my trail bike. My quote for the SV fully comp was about £140 with the NCD transferred, but only £173 on a new policy with 0 years.
(There are *some* advantages to being over 40 :) )

JakeRS,
Strewth. Is the sale of the RS needed to fund the insurance?
It certainly is no fun being 17 in the insurance world.
On another matter, sorry to hear about your 'run in' with a Diesel spill. :?
