He was trying to look cool by blasting away.
Cold tyres and an eager right hand don't go well together. I learnt that lesson myself.
Oh well, that's a mistake he won't make again.

He was showing off and paid the price, I have no pity. Made me laugh tho

Almost done that a few times myself on cold tyres - never to the extent of dropping it though, cos the T-junction at the end of my road is a wee bit blind. It's certainly a brown trouser moment though - and I'm wondering if a bigger heavier bike like the blade might be much less forgiving than the SV.

Problem is the Blade isnt any bigger or heavier, just alot more power

He would have gotten away with it if he hadn't slammed the throttle shut.

I can't understand what he did wrong. He pulled away nice and smoothly. He wasn't showing off for the camera. He was wearing all of the correct safety equipment. He was obviously taking his cold tyres and the paved surface into account. So where did he screw up?

Actually, he was a complete muppet.

I'll never ride in front of a camera. They're obviously very distracting. The internet is littered with the cracked fairings and broken brake levers of the unwary......

Aye, TW*T!

I hate to see anyone fall off or damage their bike...however.....the guy was doing a "gonna look cool and in control right in front of this camera" in a dead hard gum chewing kind of way.
If I had a guess I would definitely suggest born againer! Wot a knob...aint he lucky he wasnt there when lots of other bikers were around to watch!? :? 8)

He also didn't have his right foot on the footpeg and so was unstable to start with. Do feel sorry for him though.

Yep. Didn't seem like he had the ability to ride the bike, so probably best he decked it there rather than in a corner while doing 100...

didn't a motogp rider do the same thing coming out of the pits a couple weeks ago? Its all too easily done on cold tyres, even worse if they're new.

A motogp rider did it pre event when riding through the damp streets. To be fair cold road tyres arn't really the same as cold motogp tyres that are designed to work at twice the temp. :)

Still a bit funny though

there was another - kawasaki rider i think. Caught on video too, at the pit exit but pre-event.

Alex Hoffman, the German  Kawasaki rider did it in a demo before qualifying recently. Think he broke his wrist and missed both qualifying and the race! Doh!

I think you are 100% right. Slamming the throttle shut was a no, no! Doh!

140bhp will do that to warm tyres if you're careless.

That bike crashing sound is unbearable. Brings back bad memories.

I feel 'slightly' sorry for the idiot though.
