Guess which one was in the front cylinder?!
I have the fender extender and the flap (default on K3). What else can I do?
Bit of a bugger getting them out. They were proper torqued up or else had started to seize.
Put the new ones in hand tight and then about half a turn using a mole-grip on the end of the plug spanner that comes with the tool kit.
I put some copper grease on the caps that go over the plugs in an attempt to prevent water ingress.

I just splatched loads of grease around the seal at the end of the plug caps, works a charm. Better way is to use non-conducting grease at the plug end but I needed a quick fix.
The best thing to do is simply fit the rubber seal properly. This really is the problem.

Every time we have this thread someone says that, every time :) It's really not as simple as that... It seems to work for a lot of bikes but didn't for me- I've had 3 different seals on it- the original, a brand new one and one I got off my spare HT leads... Fitted them myself several times, had pros do it, and there's been no significant variation in how effective it is. I can make it worse :) But not better.

get some nice thick clear silicone GREASE . wont dry out like normal grease. also the best thing to put inbetween lips of seals. did my plugs the other day and the front plug was still as clean as a pin.

I too have just done the plug change. What's this flap thinhy then? I've got a nekid '01 model, couldn't see a flap on it. I assume its to fill the gap between the cam cover and the bottom of the rad, anyone got a pick of their flap? (ooeer)

No, that's fish.
