Kenny Roberts Jnr out due to water in the engine...hmmm.
Sound familiar
Melandri borrows Dovisioso's helmet because his Nolan keeps misting up
I doubt if the Shoei Pinlock boys are having any problems.
Ooooh...its going to be a good race....Wet Track!!!

What ungodly time did eurosport show the damned thing?
I was up at 5am for the 125s straight through till the MotoGP which finished around 9am.
There was a 30min delay before the 125s due to drainage problems.

Imagine if you'd been stood at the side of the pit lane with a bag full of Fog Citys or Pinlocks, you could have made an absolute killing? "£100 since it's you Vale..."
I was looking forwards to a really wet Moto GP race, but IMO it was a bit rubbish. There's BSB on tonight isn't there?

Rutter on Pole with Dean Thomas second grid
Just watch Lavilla go though :P
And that waster Mcwilliams isnt racing. I bet Paul Bird is kicking himself now and regrets not signing Shakey Byrne, although problems with KTM may change things for Stobart Honda

Waster McWilliams???? Pray tell us why???
Me, I think Paul Bird is the *anker, his whole attitude stinks... last year He had a crap bike with a good (if temperamental rider) and its all the riders fault  so he publicly berates him... U got a temperamental person don't publicly humiliate them it doesn't help... Emmett wasn't faultless, but Birdy has to learn that his team doesn't have a god give right to be winning in BSB!!!

I just think that a rider with Mcwilliams experience should be a lot further up the BSB field than he has been, He hasnt got the worse bike in the paddock, and he has good support.
Paul Bird is not the most liked bloke, but he is committed to winning with an experienced rider

It ain't the worst bike, but its far from the best. With basically zero pre-season testing a well...
I think its harsh calling him a waster mind you...

The bit I dont understand is that Paul Bird took mcwilliams on at 41 years of age, after sacking Steve Hislop for being too old at 40. after he had just won the championship.
It just shows what clout the sponsors have over the series and the teams.
maybe waster is a little harsh but after 3 years in moto gp and god knows how many GP starts, his record has not been good this year.
As for pre season testing and lack of it, Hawk Kawasaki have set up a new team with a brand new bike with hardly any track time.

Belly, belly wet and difficull race. But velly velly happy to win! Way to go Valentino!
Nice to see Rossi stay on cos he really doesn't like the wet. What is going on with Gibernau this season? He seems to have found reverse on his bike. I reckon we might see Melandri doing well this seaon. What do you guys think?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they develop the bike last year and now have an entire seasons worth of data for all the tracks?
Glen Richards rode the bike last year, didn't he?

Scott Smart rode it last year, and did most of the electrics for the ignition on it as well Smart guy that Scott Smart... You know he's Barry Sheene's nephew (god, he must get sick of that comment)
Poor Glen Richards had a terrible year (basically obliterated his arm) and was out for most of the season...

Gary Mason rode a Stobart Honda today, making good progress :P until he lost it in terrible conditions.
I still think there will be changes at the birdy team.

This race was quite strange. New circuit, rain... Shame for Gibernau, I like his racing spirit, he always expresses his efforts as part of the team effort, and his sportsmanship is beyond critic, unlike some Italian -ahem- guy's. Make no mistake I am a Rossi fan too but I didn't like his last corner maneuver in Jerez. Such an incident would have cost him dearly (in after-race penalties) in F1. I hate it when someone doesn't know how to lose...
Anyway, did anyone notice Jacque? Wow! He must have been the happiest man on the world that day. One year to ride, inferior bike and on the podium! way to go...
Something about Biaggi: I think that if he continues on this pace throughout the season he should retire from racing altogether. I mean he's supposed to be THE HONDA MAN and he's starting from the 14th grid position? Someone in HRC should've heard Doohan...

Real pity about Gibernau... it's as if he KNOWS he's the best rider, he KNOWS he's got the best bike... yet he still can't win, even in conditions that everyone says "ah - here's your turn to win Sete, you're great in the wet..." he was so close after Rossi last year, Rossi had to pull out everything to get the win and he only just made it... Rossi has it too easy this year... even if easy is just a few seconds ahead :D I still think Sete has time to get it together and give Rossi a good run... just stop blaming the bike Sete!

Heh, perhaps when Rossi gets bored in winning everone with any bike and retires, then Gibernau & the rest might have a chance... It isn't so good for the sport that one figure dominates it so blatantly. At least he changed from Honda to Yamaha and this spiced things up a lot but for this year it seems it will be last year on REW + PLAY. I hope I will prove to be wrong...

There are people out there with the ability and Bike to give him a good run for his money the problem is they just aren't consistent enough. Barros, Gibernau, Biaggi etc are all capable of winning races it's just when they don't win they tend to do very badly. It's only round three so it's not like it is all over I hope some of the riders get their **** in gear and not let Rossi run away with it.

My point was that Glen Richards had tested and raced on the bike last year. Not exactly a new bike and a new team. :)

Yeah, it's a downer - Sete was pretty consistent last year, so if he can get rid of whatever it is that's got a hold of him right now, hopefully we'll see some more battles... and it won't turn out to be a case of "Rossi pushed me! - I don't want to play motorbikes with him any more" :D
Any idea where to get one of those nifty rain suits from that they all had? If it's good enough for Rossi at 200mph in a torrential downpour, then it'll do me for going to work and back 8) And while we're on the subject, I want one of those visor/helmet combos... even my Arai with a fogcity has trouble in the UK humidity/wet weather... are pinlocks really that good?!

In my experience Pinlocks are only slightly better than a fogcity.

And a lid will always be fairly well ventilated at 200mph 8)

The amount of ventilation wont change due to speed, but the volume of air passed through it will. :)

Personally I just think that Rossi has got more will too win than the others, and he knows how to set a bike up. Gibernau has a more powerful bike with a more experienced team behind him but HE is not as competitive as Rossi.
But then Rossi is a biking God.....

I dunno but I can find out I know someone who uses one of those gimp suits... Thing is they are almost impossible to get on even worse to get off and they don't cover your legs (or not the ones I've seen)
I have the feeling Sete lost the championship on the last corner at Jerez, shame i know it'd be nice to see Melandri giving Rossi a bit, but so far it looks like its going to be a race to take second...
I just wanna keep an eye on the 250's that should keep the interest levels up there!!!

WA Developments, Stobart Honda have to get rid of one rider, any bets who it may be?
You cannot afford to have a 3rd development rider in a private team.
Honda have offered all the private teams the same spares support as a factory team

The main problem with Sete Gibernau is that like so many before him in so many sports.....the weight of expectation is almost unbareable. He is without doubt a very talented rider, yet he is almost cursed and a lot of this is down to just trying too hard which often leads to errors or if that does not work..a total lack of confidence.
I have to reiterate that the main threat to Rossi this year is definitely Melandri, who is young and hungry and no repsecter of reputation.Plus he is also Italian and without him having a crack the only other consolation the bike crazy Italians have is watching Biaggi's continual demise.
I do not think that this season is as cut and dried as many are presently thinking. Just watch out for Little Loris making a charge on the Ducati..which is proving to be one fast machine!
