Boy, 10, dies in motocross crash
A 10-year-old boy has died after colliding with another rider at a motocross event.
The accident happened at an off-road event in Thornwood, Epping, shortly before 1300 BST on Saturday.

A police spokeswoman said Jack Leesing, of Orpington, Kent, was riding a 65cc Kawasaki bike on a practice course and fell into the path of another machine.

He was struck by a Yamaha motorcycle which was being driven by a 41-year-old man also from Kent.

The youngster was taken by air ambulance to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The 41-year-old man was shocked, but unhurt.

Officers from Chigwell Road policing unit and officials from Epping Forest District Council environmental health department have launched a joint investigation.

Yep nasty !!

The track was the test track for making sure bike is running and tweaking etc before going out on the main track... Quite a popular place..

I was flag marshalling at an ACU grasstrack event near Rugely Staffs last month. I was quite astonished that there were kids out on the track with adults.

Mind you some of these kids were showing the adults up, they all have to have a licence and track training before they are allowed into an international ACU event though.

It just sounds like a dreadful accident.

That is heartbreaking news for all concerned.Poor little devil! I have to agree even if it was a section for just testing the bikes,no way should kids be out there at the same time as the adults. :( :(
