he would need to do some seriuos work to get that kinda power, more than just cams, pipe valve springs and filter. even porting wouldn't be enough to hit 105phm, tell him to go check the dyno!

Well the 600cc supersport race bikes produce ~145bhp, so I guess it IS possible to get that out of an SV in theory, especialy if he's talking about crank figures.

But yes, probably talking out of his ****

Just consider that JHS on their website, the best they show for a 650 engine is 91.8 and for a 700 it is 94

on the 1000 they have a 131.3

i could not find any dynos for the 750 & 800 engine mods they do

ive seen thoes pics before somewhere. weird

I recently adjusted the mixture on my SV, and got 310bhp out of it, and won a drag race against a turbo busa. Oddly enough, I lost both the Dyno printout, and the timeslip..........

Hum. Looking at the spec, if that makes 5bhp more than mine I'll eat my own head. And mine does not make 95bhp :)

Being generous and saying maybe he's used the Megacycle Stage 3 cams for maximum top at the cost of midrange (and had them degreed properly) and he's had the heads professionally decked for maximum compression, and the head work done flawlessly by the pros... Then I'll give it 85bhp at the rear as an absolute max.

I feel like buying it and telling him I'll knock off £100 for each rwBHP under the 100 it makes :)

I'm pretty sure something weird happened in the factory, and mine came with 105hp-straight from Suzuki...... ;-)

Maybe it's like the US/UK gallon differences where they are the same measure in name only? After travelling all the way to America on ships the horses were a bit weak so it took more of then to pull a cart therefore American h.p. is weaker than imperial h.p.

No, I don't think so either...

Or funny idea, by putting up the bhp it will attract more buyers and those with less intelect and make a great sale :D

Yea, totally ridiculous.

Everyone knows curvy's can't make that much power. ;)

Have a gander at the questions people have asked him. I think most people realise it's exaggerated and are having a bit of fun with him :)

i like the way he said "the engine is capable of 105bhp"
:? not "the engine can produce 105bhp"

as mentioned earlier, all our engines are capable of that power.......
......with silly mods.

Yeah....def would have some dyno proof if i had of tuned a bike.
Some of his answers really make you think....barometric pressure...altitude.....humidity....make you think he's putting in as much crap as possible to pad out the excuses.
Whats that saying?....If you cant dazzle them with brilliance-then baffle them with bull****!

That was my question :) "To get an accurate reading you have to have the motor removed"... Pretty desperate. He also tried to make a big deal out of the 2WJ in a private email to me, "Unavailable in the UK"

I'm intrigued by the Intruder cams, though.

I sent them an e-mail on Monday to ask if it was possible to get 105hp from an SV650 - no response yet :?

I see your question Northie!
Some how I dont think the bin price will be reached, what i find most odd is the standard forks!
just out of interest, how much meat can be safely removed when skimming an SV head?

No idea... Though I hear that you can run out of clearance if you take 2 layers out of the gasket, if you're unlucky, so you could probably work it out from that. Any decent tuners would check the clearances for you anyway when they do the work, but if you plan to do it yourself, most people seem to recommend taking one layer out of the gasket only.

Cylinder Head Shop dawn sarf told me once that in their opinion, it's hardly worth doing head work other than skimming and rudimentary port work on an SV- they opened up a Raptor and went to work, and got minimal results and an unhappy customer... So they recommended skimming the heads or thin gaskets, valve face work on older engines, and deburring and roughing the intakes, no more, and said they wouldn't do it as it'd be taking the p*** to ask their rates for the work :)

Correct. Most large capacity bikes are ridden by underskilled riders in summer. So i can vouch for the fact i CAN and DO keep up and even pass a lot of superior bikes (not riders).

Yes, I have on (very rare) occasion out ridden high spec bikes, it just come accross as, will keep up with a CBR 11 at full pelt going down the motorway at 150+
