Ok, so i've currently got the exhaust and mid section off. I'm very curious as to what it'd be like to start, would this damage anything?

BigApe does not jest  . It is absolutely feckin' loud, so when you do it make sure other people close by (like those within a mile radius with heart problems) know about it.

Shouldn't cause any damage at all but would run rough if you wanted to ride it.

Certainly something you should experience at least once in your life ;).

I always thought is sounded a bit like a Harley when you take the can off and just run it from the pipe.

I got a couple of wav files if anyone is interested (before and after). Unfortunately i wimped out and cut the bike out almost straight away with no mid section and i only had the guts to try it again after i'd taken the laptop in. Still, gives a rough idea for anyone who's not heard it.

Imagine a spitfire on a very slow idle. Without any sort of exhaust.

Post the links (maybe make them MP3s)?

Will do once i've messed around with the files to trim the crap.

Greg, would you know anywhere locally where i can buy brackets for the exhaust? The ones on the current mid section are welded on so i can't use those. The best i found was hose clams in halfords and while they'd do the job they're hardly ideal.

If you like the lack of exhaust sound - get an Art can! (or listen to mine at the Rideout!)

I'm putting on a stainless renegade without baffles. Should do the trick

Living near a copper is usually a good move - so is drinking in the pub next to the Nick.

Best place is Renegade itself. Just give them a call and I'm sure they'll send you something - nice people.

Halfords don't, just the car exhaust clamps and i've visited a few stores without any luck.

Best i've found are http://www.aer.co.uk/acatalog/hose_clip.JPG which are a bit flimsy compared to the ones Renegade provide.... Will do as a tempory measure though :)

Busters do em, the proper bike ones. Don't put a ****ty hose clamp on it, it's a crime.

i went to a local car audio shop and they had the exact same clamps i got with my blue flame kit (the ones blue flame told me they were currently out of steel - so i would have to wait for more steel to arrive before sending it out)
