Any suggestions for slip on cans.
I am presently running an Art race can. Whilst it sounds great, (and seems to remove the road of people at crossing etc) It is a little loud ! I am also looking to fall with in the law with a road legal can.
I shall be taking a trip to the BMF Bike show in Peterborough this weekend to see if I can find anything. Anyone with any suggestions as to what I should lookout for?

I'm currently running a ART can on mine and yes it is loud, I was talking to the copper who lives next door to me about fitting an aftermarket baffle(FUEL do one) and he said no need as most coppers don't have a clue about bike exhausts and the ones who do are biker/ex bikers and he doubts they would do anybody anyway.

Ps i took the "not for road use" off mine with a fine file and finished it off with wet & dry cant even tell anything was there now, ignorance is bliss!!

QUILL do a good quality road legal can which sounds pretty good.

I have a Scorpion with removable baffles. Sounds a lot better than the standard can with the baffles in. With the baffles out it sounds rude.

Im restricted too :(

But, i already have a Yoshimura end can on mine, yet when i take the restrcition off and ride with it, i have a huge flat spot half way up the rev range.

So when my restrictors come out on my 19th birthday (next month yay!)

I cant sort the fuelling out well enough to keep the yoshi on :(

SO a cheaper can thats just as loud will have to go on in its place

Blue flame. they are laod, you havee the removable baffles, which quet them a bitm but i think they look really. ive got he high mount oval twin outlet one on mine, it looks and sounds awsome. if its too load with the baffles out, you have a plug for the bottom port and a baffle for the top.
osts around 240 though, but hell its worth it

Thanks all. I'll see what I can find at BMF this weekend.
One other thing I found with the ART can causes a lot of popping, is this something that will happen on all after market sports cans ? is there a way of stopping it ?

I have an ART on too, and it's obscenely loud, loads of popping too (sometimes deliberate.. )
I ordered a DB eater off ebay, it should arrive this week, i'l let you know what difference it makes to the sound.
It only cost 20 pounds so its a damn sight cheaper than a new can if it does work, and its easily removable if i feel like terrorising people.

edit: does the occasional deliberate backfire pose any threat to the bike?, they're great for getting boy racers to stop driving up your **** in city traffic, and with the art can they look ans sound damn impressive too. like little Ha-do-kens.

What sort of file did you use? I'm planning this mod too but i can't find a good way of doing it.

I recently got pulled for a loud can and resulted with a fine for a small plate and a producer (a lot of hassle) during the conversation the subject of the eu/bs stamped bands on EBay came up quote " If I pull someone with a band or filling marks I dont bother with producers ets I simply impound the bike for perverting the course of justice"

That would cause a problem

Simply a warning

I've got an Art carbon race can which I fitted the Fuel DB reducer to last week.( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7969721816&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 ) The angle wasn't quite right for the can so I cut and rewelded it to suit. Result is a much quieter exhaust with no apparent loss in performance. I also fitted one of their BS marked can end straps. I'm hoping this will keep the Feds off my case, according to MCN they're cracking down on noisy exhausts, etc, in Lincs.

Use a small needle file, be careful and gradually remove the heaviest of the stamp mark then finish with wet and dry and then a fine polish medium such as solvol. You won't even know it had been there, as for the copper impounding the bike he's talking out of his ****!! (as they usually do)

yours looks nicer than mine :(

I'm going to have to take a little bit off this one too to make it fit snugly, but even with it jammed in half-arsedly it makes a big difference to the noise level.

Scuse my igorance, but what are BS marked end can straps? Just fitted a Viper which has 'competition use only' on the outlet plate. Don't really want it to say anything, but I'd settle for a BS/EU marking! Any ideas people? :D
Thanks
