is there any significant difference between the K2 gsxr1000 shock and the K3. I know the spring is a different colour, but apart from that?

particularly thinking in relation to performance, and ease of fitting to a K3.

does rider weight come in to it? i'm .. ahem .. 14 stone on a good day, and use my bike for central london commuting and the occasional trundle out of town. i'm also putting some new ohlins springs in the front and 20wt oil.

will.

I'm not sure if there are any differences in terms of spring rate etc, but as far as size goes, they should both fit. They both have the protruding reservior on the top don't they? The battery box will need cutting to accomodate this.

Is it really taylored to weight, probably not... whether you'll find it an improvement, I don't doubt that you will 8)

Oh, and 20wt oil is probably a bit harsh.

The K2 GSXR1k shock is slightly shorter than both the SV stock and the K3 GSXR1k shock. It also has a softer spring rate than the K3 GSXR1k.

This page is pretty good http://www.kuhnco.com/SV650/GSXRShockSwap/ I think it was done by the guy who posts here as TheLeprechaun.

have booked sv in with rob berrington-smith to fit it, together with some new fork sprinks and heavier oil all being well.
