Got caught by a van doing 48 in a 30. I thought it was a 40 zone so still well over the limit. Received the NIP from the fixed penalty office, admitted it was me. What can I expect back as as fine/points?

For a first offence, 3pts and £60.

****, it's not a first offence. 16/05/2002 - SP30(3 pts), 01/12/02 - MS90(3 pts). Damn. Gotta be more careful.

Lets hope that you get a conditional offer and not a summons.
Not sure about when those earlier convicts cease to be on your record. Think it's four years but maybe someone else can clarify it?

the MS90 and SP30 are valid for 3 year but stay on the licence for 4. The recent offence was on 11/05/05, so I'm 5 days within the three years for a "totting up" ban :-( if it's 6 points!
fingers crossed......
You will get a conditional offer, they will only summonse you for speeds 25 mph over or if the 3 points will see you hit 12 and totting.

Well that's better news, thanks Patch. I kind of thought this, just wanted more opinions.

I think you'll miss the totting up ban too, as it only counts from the date of "sentance", so you should miss it.

Nope, it's the date of offence for SP30s/MS90s. Court cases are from date of sentence. I checked it yesterday.

Phoned the Police and they reckon 3 points and the fine.
