View Full Version : Why must people make something bad out of a good thing?!

Hey,

OK. Firstly, if this offends you because you've done this to your bike or even worse, it is your bike, then I am sorry in advance. No hard feelings just my honest opinion.

So my buddy and I were talking on MSN sending images of SV's back and forth... and I kept coming across crap like this:

What is your opinion on this? Do you give them credit for doing something different making their bike unique? Or are they wrecking something good? Meh, just wanted some more opinions. :)

HAHAHA

I'm the guy on MSN that he's talking about, and I was actually tempted to do something like that headlight on the 1000. I even bought a headlight from an '04 gsxr750, but decided not to put it on.

I just think it's funny that Mitch hates the things that I think are interesting... except, I definitely don't like the fairing that the guy added on top of that gsxr1000 headlight. There are definately some stupid mods out there.

Hey,

I guess I should say, I am not referring to the copper colour...

That's a given! ;) ;)

I don't like the first one at all, but at least the second one is going for a specific style and seems to have made a good job of it.

Only in America!

Agreed, these people should be shot!

The second one os strange. NakedCDN I'm sure we would enjoy seeing more of that which Mitch doesnt... :D

Look, I'm sure Suzuki had the best intentions when they changed to a pointy design. It just didn't really work out is all [runs and hides]

Change for changes sake (and the worse). I don't like either, but that first one wins the coveted 'even uglier frontend than a varadero'. It looks like a photoshop, but still...

The biking equivalent of what Michael Jackson has done to his face...

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that, but if you mean that you would like to see what I think is cool then here ya go!

I'm thinking about getting this light (or the cyclops, haven't decided yet), but taking off the number plate and mounting the light a bit higher up.

(That's the kind of light that I got, but changed my mind about.)

I've seen some excellent shots of a jaggy naked SV with the newer GSXR headlight, it actually looks fantastic... These I'm not so keen on. The second one I think would be way nicer without the screen, and both seem very nicely executed for what they are, but they don't flip my switches.

Has anyone else seen Donnie J from SVRider's bike? He posted it here ages ago but I've not seen much from him since:

The seat is, ahem, a matter of taste but that's the only bike I've seen with an aftermarket front lamp/screen/whatever that I really like.

Hey,

I don't prefer that either...

The big difference with Donnies is that he did it to a wrecked bike, rather than taking a nice bike and fuglifying it :)

It's like "How do you make a streetfighter?" "First, crash a sportsbike"

Hey,

You have a point there. I didn't realize he had crashed it first. I guess that picture explains it alittle huh? ;)

Well, I believe he hired out the actual crashing to a specialist...
