Sounds like a sewing machine - seriously! Almost any of the aftermarket cans will sound better.

Depends on budget:
You can get something like a Viper / ART for a lowish price.
For a mid range budget then Scorpion, Blue Flame, Remus and Micron offer some excellent products.
For higher budget then companies like Akrapovic, Yoshimura, Renegade, Arrow all make quality kit.
I personally have a Yoshimura Cyclone EEC legal can which is not too loud and has a high quality rumble to it and really improves the exhaust note. I can remove the baffle to make it louder if I want, and the build quality is second to none.
At the end of the day, with this sort of stuff - you tend to get what you pay for (with some exceptions that prove the rule! :D)

Hello mate..my totally biased choice of end can would be from Carbon Can Company.Different sound but very nice, louder but not offensively so.Check out the exhaust section here on the site. 8)
Try
http://www.postworkout.com/jon/bike/svs.wav is standard
http://www.postworkout.com/jon/bike/rene.wav is a renegade high leevl oval race pipe (which will be up for sale soon.. i only just got it too :( sounds so much more awesome when on the move)

My Remus is 'top drawer' IMHO...
You can listen to it Baffle in (http://www.sv650.org/audiovisual/remus_revolution_carbon_can.mp3) here
Baffle out (http://www.sv650.org/audiovisual/remus_revolution_carbon_baffle_out.mp3) here
Or, with no can (http://www.sv650.org/audiovisual/nocan.mp3) at all if you wish
Depends on how much you've got to spend on a can really - Remus are expensive, but you get what you pay for :!: You can get a Viper can of eBay for £68 if your budget isn't fantastic - S'up to you, but its well worth getting rid of the stock item asap

A combination of slight flooding plus not running for 3 weeks + i forgot to put the choke on meant a rough start. She normally starts like the second clip :)
Keep the stock can. Nothing wrong with it!

nice :D
so its not red hot for the ahem...?
Just fitted my new s/s oval r/legal carbon can company zorst today :D I have no idea why I waited so long to do it  It is the most awesome mod you can do to your bike...the number of heads that turned today :?: The number of cars that moved out of the way when they hear you filtering :!: And the number of telephone conversations interupted by a loud(er) exhaust....I still have the baffle in...AWESOME!

Try the standard exhaust first, it's a lot of fun compared to a lot of bikes out there... just the V-twin boom :D
I'm still on the original can - not enough money to get a scorpion can yet... plus when I do, I suspect the baffle will be in most of the time due to leaving home at 6.45 am and being kind of keen to remain friends with my neighbours for now
Yep, I suspect my baffle will stay in for most of the time as well due to my neighbours all being on good terms with me at the moment...
