View Full Version : Card at the bar and Motrax mushroom question
Hi -
New here  , just bought a mint 2001 curvey :D which I hope to have some fun on this summer - cards behind the bar if you want a drink -
quick question - bought some of the Motrax Double Hard mushrooms at the weekend - looking at the instructions, they fit on the front engine mount - any thoughts on this - ok, or a bit suss ? Shall I take them back and get some that mount on the rear engine / frame mount ?
Also ... anyone got any polished rims - can't seem to find any photo's.
Great site, loads of useful info - hope to be a regular participant.
Anyone near Swindon ??
Cheers

Take them back, they're ****-awful. The LHS one works, the right hand side one will drop off if you look at it squinty because of the terrible, terrible design. It's not even capable of sustaining the recommended torque, let alone surviving a drop. Or at least mine wasn't- the outer bung was held on by about 6mm of thread in the wee ally spacer, that's hopeless.
That's exactly the information I was after - the actual mushrooms look ok, just the fixing - wonder if they can be modified to fit that rear frame mount ?
Cheers

Welcome! :D
I have the GSG Moko protectors as recommended by Grinch, they are beautifully made and look good on the bike! 8)

Are you talking about the fact that when you torque it up it just strips the thread?? If you are I had this same problem with the RHS. After carefully looking at it, (not shown in the destructions) the spacer goes both ways around, and it fitted and tightened up to over the reccommended torque (whoops) They seemed to be quite strong but not tested them yet, not like i want to either.

Nah, I'd followed their instructions- I contacted them after with pics ad they accepted blame and refunded me for the bungs, which was nice. But they didn't take them off sale, which wasn't so nice.
