Can I use a can that has rivetband/rivets missing?

It's getting 2 months since i ordered new rivet bands + rivets for my Remus Can.

I'm Sick of the standard Can.

Can i put the can on eventhough it hasn't got the rivet band + rivets fitted ? :roll:

It'll probably pop the end off if they're all missing. Don't ask me how I know.

But rivets are rivets, you could pop down to your local DIY shop and get a rivetter and a selection of rivets for about a tenner. The band itself doesn't seem important, I've removed both of mine and I can't tell any difference. In fact, I'm only using 2 rivets at each end since I cut my can down and it seems totally happy.

I have rivets - just not the right rivet band....

You may find that the band on yours has a sealing effect- on mine it was just cosmetic. Only thing though, is that if you have to remove the rivets again it'll increase the risk of damaging the can and not the strap.
