OK, then, here's my poor attempt at explaining how to do it (rather than what it is). Copied from another thread.

When leaning into a corner shift your upper body slightly towards the inside handle bar - the transferrance of weight will automatically make you countersteer slightly.

It can help to actually drop your outside shoulder slightly too. This is probably a really bad description - but if taking a left-hander = keep your head upright, pull you right shoulder down towards your left hip slightly whilst shifting your left shoulder towards the inside of the corner.
Don't worry about conciously applying pressure on either of the bars - let your weight do it for you.

It's kind of a :riding: movement!

Once that feels more natural then you can actually think about applying pressure onto the inside bar - then pushing down on the inside peg too.

What is it - basically it's actively steering in opposition to the way you want to go! Yeah - go figure. :roll: :wink:

Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well at low speeds, so crawling round in a carpark at 10mph isn't going to help, get out on some wideish, familiar roads, when there's not much traffic about and give it a go. First time you do it conciously is a really strange feeling. Definately worth learning it though.

It's what you used to do on your Chopper/BMX/Mountain bike.

If you want to go right, push the right handlebar away from you... this moves the rear wheel to the left of you, and leans the bike to the right - resulting in a turn to the right.

The opposite for the left turn :lol:

It is a great feeling on a motorbike 8)

It's simple really :lol: At slow speeds you steer a motorbike i.e. turn the front wheel in the direction you want to go. At higher speeds you gently do the opposite.

Another explaination - have you ever played with a gyroscope? If you try and turn a gyroscope it will tilt in the opposite direction of the force. The front wheel of a motorbike acts like a big gyroscope.
