what i would like to know, is how a head on crash let the other rider to continue.

At high speed anything touching a bike is very dangrous. I personaly think they might be over exagerating the story to serve a cause.
The rider was probably reckless and because of his actions caused the other rider to loose control. Well we will see. If he did have damage i think people will soon find out.

2nd one this year I know of.

First one happened over easter with a head on between a zx6 and a triumph. Kwak rider, 24, killed and pronounced dead at scene, triumph rider had an injured shoulder. Both going for overtakes round double whites. :?

But is anyone really surprised? Its summer, the fair weathers are out and some of them have no concept of biker solidarity or doing the decent thing.

Really? Didn't know that.
I think Mark is probably closest to the truth with what happend. You could be right and the bikes didn't connect, of course.

i was up there sat morning early doors very quiet, went out yesterday and the riding of a lot of riders was sh*te,overtaking on bends, double white lines, the worst are those in a large group trying to keep up with the leader, baffled to see what the rush to the next vehicle is for

Which is why they do it in the first place  Always knowing there's a small risk but that they'll probably get away with it.

I don't even like to think that I'd do something like that... small odds yes, but odds that mean you'll likely die if it's one of the times that there is something else there

there's no excuse for not stopping. I hope the ba***rd burns in hell. I can't imagine being so selfish that I don't stop to help anyone who may be injured by an incident I was involved in...or not involved in for that matter...

I'm lost for words really. I hope they catch the bu**er

shocking indeed, i guess the fact that police knows there's a red sportsbike involved which indicated there were witness who saw what happened. i think it is possible the red bike didn't touch the harley and likely he didn't even know what he's caused.

on that part of the road (near chop gate), it's very twisty with lots of stone walls, chances are they were doing no more than 60-70. There's no room for error on that road, so it wouldn't take much to cause a big accident.

This incident is 'big' on the news today... The 66 year old was from near York - he died when his bike ploughed through a dry-stone wall

Police are still hunting for the rider of a red 'sports bike', who must have sustained injuries to his left side & suffered major damage on the near-side of the bike he was riding

This was no mistake, He was taking a racing line through a right hand blind bend. Ok if the bend is open and clear it can be safely done. But if it's a BLIND right hander, BIGNO NO. He hit the other rider left to left meaning he was between the other rider and kerb. This man should lose his liscence and never be given it back IMHO :toss:

Never mind lose his license, he should get locked up for causing death by dangerous riding (driving) - maximum penalty, LIFE :!:

Can't believe he hasn't been caught yet
