With the hot weather last Friday, I was looking around for something cooler on the bike and found plenty of stuff like this:
http://www.motorcycle-uk.com/giali/Denimjeans.html
But has anyone actually tried them? I do about 50 miles/day at 70mph and another 30 at 30mph. I'm sure they'll be fine at town speeds but I'm not totally confident that they'll be up to coming off at 70mph or more.
Been told they work very well, you could also try 'Hoof Jeans' and 'Dragin Jeans' as another possbile choice.

i was gonna get a pair last summer but never got round to it. deffo want a pair this year.
Watch the vid on the draggin jeans site....proves they are good for abrassion resistance but i'm sure some armour would be needed for impact resistance.

You could put in some armour pockets and add in that thin, Hein-Gericke armour? I think Hood Jeans have already got pockets so they could be a good choice, plus they are cheaper than the dragin ones.
Hood jeans are also fully Aramid lined above the shins aswell where as a lot of other brands seem to just put patches of kevlar in places where you would need them most.

evenin'!
well, i didnt get the draggin' jeans in the end, they were a bit too 'restrictive' for my taste!
so i got a pair of their beigey cargo trousers, same kevlar lining and having spent the day on a 125, seem comfy enough. luckily i didnt get a chance to test their protection, but ive heard plenty of good reviews.
hope thats useful! :)

Got some Hood ND4 Jeans today.
They look really good (quite similar to pair of YSL jeans I have)
and are really well made.
The order turnaround is pretty good to, I only posted my order form last thursday.

My K7 jeans arrived... surprised by how thick and heavy they are. There's less airflow through them than I thought there would be as well, but with the armour in them, I'm pretty certain that in a spill I'd come off better in these jeans than in my leathers or my pricey hein gericke winter pantaloons. Very reassuring plus it's much easier to move about on the bike now... with London hitting 28 degrees later today, they should get a good test on the way home (though only regarding how cool they are to ride in, I hope)

Have had mine over a year. Very good quality and they do feel they can protect you in a spill as long as you have the armour

K7 have no pockets but have a velcro strip in the place of the knee area

Have been helping a friend in her bikeshop/training school today and they have a small range of Dragin Jeans - come as combats as well, which i liked. The instructors there said they are good but they all wear texture armoured trousers. Some skooter boys have bought some. I'm not sure but very tempted in the hot summer - had problems getting my leathers of the other day and noooobody to help
I put the armour in my Hood ND4 Jeans the other day after seeing Sveedy's crash pics.
Although not obviously visible, it does make them less comfatable if you are wearing them all day.
The knee armour does start to chafe a bit after a few hours.

just reading your thread and have to say that i have a pair of shoshoni jeans i have had then about 5/6 years and they are great to wear when the weather is to hot for leathers, they can chaf behind the knees but only after a few hours, but good jeans.
stumpy :D
I have just ordered a pair of hood jeans after seeing my Dad's pair and comparing them to his draggin jeans. They look much better made and have no obviously sticthed lining look so here goes
