I pop up there quite often, it is a bit of a local mecca for bikes of any shape or size. May have something to do with Mick's Burgers.

Just a shame they have made it a 40 zone, it used to be national.

Am in the area and will soon be riding around on a black curvy sv. Not a big fan of portsdown though as for me the ride there's no fun. I do tend to stop off at the Meon Hut on the way back from/during rides but the bastids have gone and blocked the entrance off. :(

Err, don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but the K4 650s didn't come in silver. The only pointy one that did was the K3.
What do you have on your fuel tank? An S or Suzuki?

Picky, picky............just looked at my paperwork and she is a K3 but was first registered this time last year..................and I would only buy one in silver!! But that is a girly thing!! :)

Just making sure you knew. There are a few people who were sold K3s and told they were K4s bythe dealer.
I would have probably bought a silver one if the black ones hadn't come out, but that's a manly thing.

Thanks for the info..............is there any real difference between the K3 & K4 or was it just colour availability. Just wanna know before I go ordering loads of bits that won't fit (thinking of the v.expensive race screen I have just ordered  )

And my real reason for buying silver..............cos it had lowers and I hate cleaning so silver shows the dirt a whole lot less. Same reason I opted against a K5 cos the thought of having to clean the black frame made me squirm with horror!!

There are a few differences, main ones are exhausts and huggers aren't the same. Most of the rest of the stuff is interchangeable.

Fraid you are gonna have to..............or with a little bribery and persuasion get the other half to do it (not that I would condone that kind of behaviour  nor would I personally stoop so low :^o )

To ptip I got last night..............use strips of the clear tank protector from Oxford on the fork legs to prevent them getting shot blasted!!

I'd be up for that, if you havent ridden the Zig Zag before, its not to but the bends are very very sharp, I know somebody who fell off riding up it

I've done it once on a rider improver day with my instructor going down before me and talking me down the hill and some of the girls that are going have done it a couple of times............suppose I had better study the map and come up with some kinda route (in between finalising my wedding plans, starting my own business, getting ready for my Ofsted inspection yadda, yadda, yadda)

I've never really thought about it, If I go out its normaly a spur of the moment thing, lid on bike out and off I go, I go out without knowing where I am going and I often get lost on purpose

Aha, Froggy (detecting that Fizzwheel has local knowledge) wonders whether he could suggest a route?....................starting with a blatt down the M27 / A31 to Three Cross?

fizzwheel
17-06-05, 09:10 PM
I'm not from that far down, I live in Yeovil and I'm already organising a rideout....

I dont know the A31 very well only as far as Ringwood from this side of bournemouth

I only know the zig zag as I often go shaftesbury / cranborne chase / blandford ish kind of area

Edit - Sorry that sounds a bit harsh when I re-read it, if you want some advice post your route up and I'll give it the once over for you

No worries, if you want a tip though stay away from the A37 Dorchester to Yeovil, theres always the nice friendly camera van to content with on that stretch of road

Definitely :^o I've ridden with you a few times now.
Not that I hang about much, of course.

The zig-zag road is pretty cool, was gonna ask if it was the one I was thinking of, but fizz has answered that already.
I plan to make a trip up to three-cross at some point, I think there's a bigish triumph dealer there and I want a test-ride of the ST at some point.
