Well being as everyone tried to help me choose a helmet I thought I would write a review of the helmet that I got.

So here it is, my review of the AC-11.

Being as I had the justissimo before this new helmet (and most helmets tbh) is about 350g lighter, which makes a huge difference especially when doing any life savers or looking behind yourself.

The inside is very comfy and has a fully removeable lining, a chin skirt thang, and a good lot of padding around the neck.

It also comes with a removeable breathing guard that stops the visor misting up, and it works very well, and fits fine with no major issues.

The five vents on the helmet all have two settings each and actually do a lot, especially when the breathing guard is in.

The lid is much better for wind noise, in the way that there isn't much at all compared to the justissimo. Because of this I can hear more of the outside world, as much as if I had my Justissimo visor open. Not bad.
The release system on the visor is pretty good too, and quick to change over, although the visor is quite stiff to lift up at times. Hopefully it will loosen over time.

Being that it is summer I have a replacement dark visor which is great, but the one time I have ridden with the clean visor that came with the helmet it whistled a bit. I think this could be due to me not closing it properly, but I'm not sure.

Oh and I am getting used to the d-link strap, and actually starting to prefer it to the clip of the justissimo.

Ok, I think that's it.
Overall, for £100 it is a brilliant helmet, in fact for £200 it's a brilliant helmet, but I got it for £100 so I'm not complaining.

i picked up one of these a couple of weeks ago and i would defintiely agree with all of that!

£100 seems a real bargain!

Should have got the AGV (but I am biased).

DD's are a lot better than clip fastening IMO.

AGV seemed good, but it was twice the price and didn't have half the features. The DD's do seem better, but it's a strange change.

I prefer DD as well. (both kinds for those who also have a dirty mind)
It takes only a few seconds longer to do up/undo than a seatbelt type but you always have it adjusted correctly. With seatbelt types there's a danger of getting lazy and having it too loose, especially on a sudden warm day when you have less stuff on under it.

Agree that these are great lids. I bought a clip for mine that converts the d-ring into a snap-in type. It's guaranteed to be stronger than the strap (by which time I reckon I'd be decapitated anyway).

Much more convenient.

i must agree again my hjc ac 11 is a great lid, and for £100 what more can i say that aint already been said! the last lid i had was a £200 agv and the hjc makes it feel poor.

can i ask where you got this? ive been lookin for something like this.

my spidey lid is an hjc and the g/fs new lid is and agv. The hjc is definately quiter and the vents work quite well.

But its got dd's and i'm bored of em now after a year of daily wear.

Bought in USA when visiting last year. The shop has an online store, look for quick release. Cost = $6.99 + tax (about 8% I think, though may not apply to goods shipped out of state)

I have an AC11 Shiva.

My first proper helmet and it is great.
It was as comfortable as any and has all the features needed by a beginner biker.
Came near the top in a recent RIDE test and then HG sell it half price. ace

is everyone still getting on well with their HJC ac 11 now the wethers turned a bit..
i've got one and find it leaks when it reains hard. i get water streaming down the inside of the visor. And with the cold weather of the last week its been foggin up on a night. i can work out if its just a frost forming on the visor as i ride along or if the anti fog coating isnt up to it.

anyone else having the same problems?

Have had problems with mine misting up in the cold, there were a few patches of snow on the groung mind, and fog limiting visability to about 30m, nothing like a nice birthday ride! Still did over 100 miles and only needed 2 hot chocolates to keep me going, with the all in one waterproofs over my leathers. So maybe I shouldn't expect too much!

Still good for 100 squid.

I just bought me a new lid. Went to the shop and after just buying my new bike I didn't have much spare cash!

So when I saw a nice looking helmet for under £90 I tried it on... Really nice for such a cheap helmet. I of course bought it. It is the new season helmet in matt effect. The fit is nice and snugg and with the face mask (provided) on it makes your breathing not even mist the visor at all. Fantastic helmet.

The only thing I dont really like about it is it is a little (very little) heavier than an expesive helmet. But it is well balanced and looks great. So if you need a new helmet but dont have much spare cash.. A visit to check out the HJC's is worth a look.

My previous helmet was an AGV and it is as good if not better. but the AGV did seem to be a little lighter but I didnt feel like the helmet was plastered on my head as well as the HJC.

RECOMMENDATION!!! HJC is well worth double the amount.
