idle ideas

Hi there,

Jumped on the ol' 650 this morning ('99 model). it started fine as usual but just wont idle. Stalls unless I keep the revs up. Any ideas?

Yeah... try adjusting your idle speed screw! #-o

You need to be aiming for between 1300 and 1400 RPM

Hi guys, I have the same problem, idle speed is around 1000 and it stalls if not warm.
Main part of the question would be, where is the idle control screw??

Its on the LHS of the bike between the frame, its a small black knob you can turn by hand. HTH

Got a chance to get out into the garage and the bike is running on 1 cylinder. So going to check the plugs.

Mine used to stall as well with an idle around 1100. I changed it to 1400 and it is fine now.

Yes! Sorted. New plug and I'm done. Just in time for the thunder and lightning!
