How come no-one posts anything on here when a 'mini-rideout' is planned (say 2, 3 or 4 peeps from the forum plan to go out) :?: It would be nice to know if any of the kent peeps go out over the weekends as well. At the moment I am spending most of my time with the essex loungers  because they seem to be the only ones letting others know what they're up to. And I have to admit...the routes are really good and thoroughly enjoyable :!:

Strange that...but I cannot imagine more than two or three other people turning up when something for a sunday is put on the site on a sat morning/evening. Anyway, I just thought it might be nice to go out with the selkenters once in a while seeing as I cannot make the tues/wed meets due to work and the time of the meets. :(
Anyway, Billy, keep us informed if you come up with anything and whether or not it is a viable option for a selkent rideout soon.

I think that was something Cazza requested, in order to get a little bit of experience with a few people, without going silly or with huge groups.

The thing is, people like to choose who they ride with. Riding with someone new means they have to cater for the unknown - always looking out for that person, not sure what kind of lines they take, and so on. Everyone knows their riding buddies styles, and makes the whole event more enjoyable.

Little groups work better, and I think that's the way we should go for the next ride-out. However, this will require more people to lead, mark corners, or back-mark. But I think that's fine so long as people are happy to take those roles for at least part, if not all the day.

Thanks for the offer James. While I'm confident you know the routes and roads of the South East, I've never really ridden with you, and don't know how you'd handle in a large group.

I would tend to call upon the services of the old-timers and experienced groupies of the forum for these tasks. I by no means put myself in this category. But, the Rictus's, Squid's, Treacle's, Viney's, Itching2Go's, SexySi's (remember him? ) and Swiss's of this forum would be among my prefered "marshals" for a ride-out.
