A friend got knocked off his SV1000 recently. He had fully comp insurance, having recently been in an accident on his last bike and only having had third party and being at fault...

He took out fully comp. for peace of mind (after the last accident) and now it's looking like this last accident might leave him partly at fault and so the policy ends. I just found out he paid £1700 for the policy. How nuts is that? I couldn't imagine paying that much... I thought £450 fully comp for the sv650 was bad! What's the highest anyone on here is paying for insurance - whether comp, 3pft or just tp??

after having one accident on an SV in which i was at fault, they wanted £1800 from me for a k3 naked Sv fully comp. an absolute joke considering if u write off the bike u lose the policy anyway with no refund.

so in my first accident i had fully comp, with £650 excess. I wrote the bike off after 1 day of starting the policy so lost my £400 excess plus my £650 policy.

Dont u just love insurance companys?

so from now on ill never, ever have fully comp again. its a total rip off and due to the nature of insurance i cant possibly afford to ever make another claim again anyway.

god bless the law abiding road user and all he pays.
