I need to replace my helmet.
Been looking around the net and found the 'Arai Astro Race Schwantz' for £280. Am i right in thinking that this is a good price? And have you had any experiance with a astro race?
I dont know alot about helmets as ive only ever owned the one im replacing now, its a Suomy Spec R1. Is the Arai a better helmet?

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea about the helmet, but that does sound like a good price. Post where you found that because I may be in the market for a new lid at the end of this year.
I think RRP for that lid is up near £400, so probably not that easy to get for less than £350.

They have a few different arai's that are reduced.

it's only good if your noggin is shaped like the Astral and it fits correctly
Arai makes 3 head shapes , Quantum, Signet & Astral, the RX7 is shaped like a Quantum

I'd say that the price is very good as I paid full price for mine. Has removable lining so easy to keep fresh although cheek pads don't come out. On the whole a good lid. I find the visor a bit if a pig to get back on tho that could just be me. Put in a Fog City insert. Ventilation adequate and lid comfy once it beds in. A lot better than the Shark it replaced. Go for it.
